PEPPERS top 10 player in NFl.com list..

Well NFL.com did its 11-20 list last night and peppers still not on it yet.. So guess this sunday, will be in top 10( likely 10 to 6).. rodger's came in at #11 FWIW

With 10 players to go, here’s who we think will be revealed next week, in alphabetical order: Pats quarterback Tom Brady, Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Texans receiver Andre Johnson, Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, Bears defensive end Julius Peppers, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, Ravens safety Ed Reed, and Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis.

Can't figure Urlacher or Briggs that low and Pep as a top 10. All three players are difference makers and as an OC you have to game plan for all three. Briggs is without a doubt one of the best tackling LB's in the game. No MLB plays runs sideline to sideline and the pass like Urlacher.

Not saying Pep shouldn't be top 10 but Briggs and Urlacher should be higher. Urlacher top 25 and Briggs top 50 at the very least.

Been mulling that over myself, as well... I figure it's most likely that Peppers is getting some reflected glory from the Urlacher/Briggs combo. The idea runs like this: in '09 the Bears had a average to average minus defense, picked up Pep in FA and BANG! In '10 the Bears have a top 10 Defense, and all the Bears did was add Peppers. Thing is, most people forgot that Urlacher sat out all but half of one game in '09. In short Pep gets the credit for the improvement in the Bears defensive performance that is, in part, due to the return of #54. That's my take on it at any rate...

I think he is getting exactly what he needs. All LB's need a good DL to keep the OL off them, it's the elephant in the room; but the only time lb's get talked about needing to shed blockers it's b/c they have shitty DL's in front of them, but that never gets brought up. Urlchacher/Briggs benefitted the most from the peppers signing. the OL had to worry more about his distrubtion of the O then getting to Briggs/Urlacher.
Briggs/Urlcacher/Forte/Cutler have been underrated by other players for a long time....or maybe we over value them as Bear fans.

Cutler is ranked just right, but Forte may be the most underrated player in the NFC North. Matt Stafford even gets more hype than Forte. He even averaged over 4.5 yards per carry last season. He was the best offensive player on our team last season.

Our best O player payed on the 30th ranked offense. Neither should get a ton of love, no matter how good they could be.

You make it sound like being the best player on the Bears offense is hard to do you have Cutler and Forte and .........no one.

Guys like Bennett, Knox and Olsen are beginning to make some noise though. The real problem is in the Oline and not so much the skill positions. Fix the blocking schemes and give them another year under Martz and those guys will all become more productive.

We have one big piece to that puzzle on the offensive line there already. Hopefully, Carimi won't be the only piece that is added.
