Looks like he's right and the rest of the world is wrong. Egotistical ass-bag also insisted Todd f****** Collins was our #2 qb last year. That train wreck alone tells me this guys a lil thin between the ears. I need a beer now.

Sorry Grizz, no way to see a replay right now. Didn't record it and don't have NFL network to watch but I'll take your word for it.

My problem isn't that he doesn't adjust at all. Obviously he did during the second half of 2010. My problem with him is that he still wants to run his old passing offense without the receivers to do it, the Oline to do it, in weather that isn't suited for it, and on a field that isn't suited for it. Other than that I have no problems with him, LOL.

I just think a Mike Martz offense is not what the Bears need but I accept the fact that he's probably better for Cutler than Ron Turner could ever have been. I'm just tired of the arrogance and ignorance he shows whenever he comments on something. He reminds me way too much of (ouch) Terry Shea!

you don't make the NFC championship game with the holes in the O-line we had without being able to adapt.

Martz was a big play, pass happy guy who ADAPTED to running the ball more down the stretch and it worked.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve some criticism but It's like if a guy isn't 100% perfect in all facets he's a blow hard worthless POS, and having to sit around and read that crap all the time is just as bad as trying to hang out on a message board with nothing but fan boys who think the team can do no wrong.

in fact... since we're on the subject of how bad Mike Martz is..... tell me. who would you bring in to replace him, and how would that help the team?... learning yet another new system?...

Martz's first year here and we go back to the NFC championship after a 3 year SB hangover. but whatever... Carry on.

I don't think he's a POS at all but I do think my criticism is fair. He did adapt last year but despite that what I hear from him still indicates a longing to go back to his old style of game planning and play calling. If it works that's fine but to me it's still a style of play that's ill suited to an outdoor team in the NFCN. I'd love him to prove me wrong though.

The answer to your question about replacing him is; No One. I wouldn't put Cutler through another change in OC's at this point in his career but to be honest with you I wouldn't have hired Martz in the first place. Even then I didn't think he was the right guy for the Bears.

we went back into the playoffs thanks to the Bears Def playing like the Bears defense we know they can thanks to getting rid of Babich at least decision making wise. The 30 th ranked offense was just there for the ride.

grizz Im sure there are a million threads before we hired Martz on who we wanted for OC and I dont think anyone wanted Martz cause what we had as a team doesnt fit what he wants to do. Guess what the rankings show it cause this is the worst Martz offense of all time. This was worse then the San Fran Martz offense led my Alex frickin Smith.

The proof is all there if you are open minded about it. It isnt just mindless bashing of the team

I think we are going to get better. Perhaps Martz is a better tactician with the small things than he is as a strategist at seeing the bigger picture like Collins or the balance he needs in the run game. When I read things like he's not really weighing a bigger wr too seriously then I think he deserves some objective criticism.
And besides what the hell else do we have to bat around nowadays.

Exactly, I'm not trying to bash him although I admit that although my humor might sometimes be mistaken for sarcasm, it's not intentional. I found an article a few days ago on another site about Martz and our prospects for this year with him as our OC. I hesitated to repost it because it was just a layman's thoughts but now I think that he put some pretty good thoughts togther despite that. So I have posted in it's own thread. In fact there are a whole hell of a lot of times that I think we write better stuff here than what I read on most of the web sites.

I thought that one of the comments made about this on the NFP site was very astute. Has Martz considered that the footing in Soldier Field is nowhere near what he's had in St. Louis or Detroit? How much affect will that have on the speed and cutting ability of the smaller WR's he seem to favor. We've talked about Johnny Knox's issues with his route running but have we ever thought about how much of that might have been attributable to poor field conditions and bad footing?

It's high time Mike Martz forgets about what he's been able to accomplish elsewhere when playing on turf and realize that he's now coaching an offense that plays 8 of it's games in Soldier Field which even early in the season is far from being one of the better playing surfaces in the NFL. This arrogance and desire to relive past glories rather than adapting to today's needs is costing us!
This is exactly why Martz needs to be fired. He is so f*cking stubborn about his game planning and the type of players he wants that he's not willing to acclimate his wants to what he has available to him.

The Ravens won the superbowl with Trent Dilfer at qb and they did not win it because of Trent Dilfers wonderful quarterbacking skills. lol

Grizz just keeps skipping over the fact that at the end of the year martz's "improved" O was worse then any that RT put out there. And he had more talent in place. We should have seen vast improvement; instead the O took a step backwards. The D got us to where we were last year; they returned to SB form, and it showed.
