Possible, not likely but definitely possible. That's the way I'd go too Windy. Those are the two key spots we need to improve dramatically if we're gonna stay competitive in the NFCN and in the NFC. Pairing a guy like Harvey Dahl with either Webb or Carimi on the right side would really help the running game and Rice gives us a legitimate downfield threat. Someone teams would have to pay close attention to.

If Martz is gonna continue to push this team towards a more open attack then these two guys could really help him in that regard.

Yeah I read that and posted on what he and Mankins are asking for in the General Forum. Personally I think they'll take the cash if the league will settle with them (which I think they will) and then collect those huge franchise salaries for another year. After this year they can move on and they're both still young enough to command monster paydays.

Getting Jackson would be a great move but practically speaking I can't see it happening either this year or next. As long as Martz keeps insisting that he doesn't need big guys catching passes I don't think we'll ever spend the money for a guy like Jackson.

Martz will be the ruination of this team before Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo get a change to do it. Actually, someone here will know this, did Jerry Angelo hire Mike Martz or was it Lovie Smith? Was it Ted Phillips? Whoever did has to be a total and complete idiot because Martz cost us a chance at going to the Super Bowl this year.

Lovie suggested him because he coached for him in St Louis and JA hired him because that's what a GM does. Martz as not their first choice though. In order to succeed in Chicago you either need to get Martz players for his system or he has to adapt his system to the players he's got. Right now I'd say we're somewhere in between.

The problem with this is that to run Martz's offense, it requires certain types of players, players that we don't have. It's like you said, we're somewhere in between on that front. I don't know what, if anything, can be done to remedy that other than to force Martz to adapt to the offensive weapons that we have. He is, to me, a wasted hire as an offensive coordinator.
