I don't think JA is ready but I think Cilff Stein is.
What I think we should go after:
wr-Rice/Floyd
LG-Anyone but Mankins-too expensive
C-resign Kreutz and get a FA C backup
NT-resign Adams
What we will probably do:
Sign Moss, Let Adams go and sign Mebane, overpay for a LG we haven't heard about. Sign Roach and Pisa but lose Manning and Graham. And bring in another retread corner.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Yeah I'd like to see us get Weatherford from the Jets but who knows.

Shorty we shouldn't need to overpay and it shouldn't have to be an unknown. If the 5th years guys are gonna be UFA's there's at least a half dozen who should be available. Look at Atlanta. Blalock, Clabo and Dahl are all UFA's and they aren't in a position to keep more than one of them. Blalock is a LG and Dahl a RG so take your choice if both are there. Personally I'd take Dahl and move Garza over to LG if CWill can't hack it. We should re-sign Olin for two years and bring in a rookie UDFA or two who play OC and OG.
Mebane might be a good pickup even if we do re-sign AA. Seattle has used him as an UT even though I see him more at NT. Bottom line there is that with he and Paea on the team we've significantly improved our inside pass rush over last year and that's something we need to do. It also gives us the flexibility to keep using Melton at DE if needed. Lovie can never have too many DT's who can rush.
I think Manning is all but gone but read the Matt Bowen article on Graham I posted. You may change your mind. After we tie up the OG of our choice I'd go after whichever WR we like and make that the second priority but I wouldn't get into a bidding war over it. Don't be cheap but don't chase a guy too hard. Come in strong and first and let the chips fall where they may.

Yep, without a doubt we need more competition and Weatherford's name keeps popping up.

I don't see the rationale with having both Mebane and Adams. We have Toe and Adams as NT and Toe can play UT if Melton and Paea don't pan out(Paea can also try out NT). I'd rather us have another alternate DE to spell Izzy while Wootton spells Pep on the other side. Using Omiyale as a previous example and a whirl wind FA it is conceivable they go in a direction we didn't see. But hopefully with Tice's input we won't find the next Omiyale 2.0.

About the only rationale that I can think of shorty is both the desire to get younger on defense and to add another inside pass rusher to the mix. I think we re-sign AA because he's one of the most consistent players we have but he's 31 years old and due for replacement within the next couple of years or so. In addition neither he or Toe are very good pass rushers and Mebane may be a little better in that respect. Add to that the fact that, like Paea, he can play both UT and NT and he's a guy who the Bears would value since undoubtedly they've reached the end of their rope with Marcus Harrison.
I'd prefer we added depth at DE too but if there isn't a guy they like and they don't spend the $$$ on a WR then it may make sense to take on a guy like Mebane and allow Melton to slide back outside at times to give Izzy a breather. You know that Lovie can never have too many pass rushers. This could also be nothing more than pure speculation based on his connection to Tim Ruskell who drafted him when he was with Seattle. Anyway a week to ten days from now we'll probably know.

That is if we get past this latest impasse where the owners appear to have voted on their version of the CBA whereas the players aren't ready to approve it yet.
