Gee, a member of the Bears is echoing our sentiments exactly, soulman. How many hours did you, DB, and I spend discussing these needs during the winter and spring months?
-
He's just a stupid RB; the coaches are far more understanding of the game. Big WR's are so IN; what we need..and our OC understands this, is small wr's to be different. And Linemen are SO overrated; who needs blocking and pressure on the qb?

Too many to count Dags. Like I said in another post, the rest of the offseason needs are pretty apparent to anyone who follows the team. It's really not a matter of what positions but rather who to fill them with. I'd say that in about a week we'll find out.

Haha, Forte seemed to tread carefully when they asked him about it. First he says he doesn't know but then finally relents and admits that he thinks we need lineman on both sides of the ball AND A BIGGER WR! Mike Martz are you listening to your main offensive weapon? That makes 2/3rds of your starting backfield who think we need one and the face of the team thinks we should get one too even if it's Plax Burress. Time to listen to something else besides the ticking of your watch. If it ticks off this season without a major improvement in the Bears offensive output you won't be worrying about a contract extension here.

LOL... another Canned answer and everyone's flocking to say I told you so simply because someone else said it... Again..... LOL.
why not wait till something happens to toot your own horns fella's....
New England Tears it up with 3 guys under 5'10". shortest being 5'7" and some change... so enough with the "big" reciever talk...
You really thing Forte's gonna put his foot in his mouth and give an answer contrary to what the fans want to hear? with the way chicago fans turn on a guy in a freakin second you think he's even gonna risk his reputation off the field by saying something that can be taken out of context??? or is he going to do what 90% of NFL players do and just say the safe thing to say?...
C'mon on now... you guys should know better than that.

I'm not tooting my horn because I think any experienced WR we add will upgrade the current situation. I pointed out the same regarding the successs NE has had with smaller guys in another thread so I agree with you on that and if we get a guy like Moss, Smith, or Holmes I won't be all that disappointed. But when your QB, best RB and MLB are all quoted as saying they'd like to see some size at WR I don't think it's just going along with what fans want to hear Grizz.
When to you think that Cutler or Urlacher have ever said what they thought someone else wanted to hear? LOL. It's not in their nature to do that IMO.

I think Brady has allot to do with what goes on in NE soul. He has the accuracy and pocket presence that Cutler doesnt. So why is it such a bad thing to say we need a bigger target? You have to be a balanced team why add more of the same? I think getting a bigger wr will have us nicely diversified to go up against any type of defense. That is what we need. Now I wont shed a tear if we get Holmes cause like I sad time and again he is by far the best wr in this FA. Just saying We already have Knox and Hester for our speed threats. How intimidating would it be to add a Rice? I bet it will make GB defense look a little less formidable going up against a wr they cant push around

No need for apologies Grizz. I re-read it and I can see how it came across that way. What I really meant to impart was that I thought Martz should be paying more attention to what key players on the team are saying. I know the inmates don't run the asylum but in this case what they say makes perfect sense. All I'd need to know is that my QB wants to be able to throw to bigger targets every so often and I'd get him bigger targets.
I may be completely off base but to me Martz always seems like and arrogant SOB that goes by NIH (not invented here) principles in his coaching style. When Lovie and Tice forced him to listen to reason and balance the offense last year we started winning games. I don't want him to slide back into his old way of thinking because it won't get us anywhere. He's in Chicago now, not St. Louis.
