Chris Harris to me is much more important than Daniel Manning. He has a huge impact on the defense and is rarely out of position. Put that better athlete in Wright at FS to support Harris and let them grow together.
Do not fall into the trap of Daniel Manning.

Windy it's good to see you back again.
I'd rather keep Harris than Manning too. You have to wonder if Manning finally got it last year because it took him that long to develop or was it a superhuman effort because it was a contract year. Will Danieal Manning be as effective for another team after he gets a high dollar deal? I'm not sure of that but I am sure that Chris Harris will be every bit the player he was big contract or not.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I can truly vouch for Chris Harris being a good guy, for what it's worth to this argument. Back in the winter, I wrote him an E-mail telling him who I was, and that I appreciated everything he and his teammates had done since the 2006 season in getting the Bears to the playoffs, winning the division, and either getting into the Super Bowl or nearly getting there. I told him of my bipolar disorder and my struggles with school, and how watching the Bears put my mind at ease on Sunday afternoons when I would be away from school. He wrote me back thanking for my kind words, that he and his teammates appreciate fans like us who support the team, and encouraged me to keep on working hard in school despite the adversity because the pay off in the end justifies the means.
Chris Harris seems to really like us as fans, and I'm not just saying that just because I have an agenda of wanting to keep him on the squad for the rest of his career. Harris is a special kind of player who gives his all in the pursuit of making the Bears the best that they can be. If he can be had, I'm sure he'll want to stay; he has basically said as much in that article. He has the tools to be a First Team All-Pro, and would have had that designation last season had he gotten off to a faster start on creating takeaways than he did. (I think the article said that the he didn't get his first interception until Week 9.) I wouldn't be shocked to see him get another All-Pro honor this season, especially if comes on like gangbusters like he did last year. Let's hope that Jerry Angelo does the smart thing and re-signs him because he's the best safety we've had since Mike Brown.

Yeah sign him. I love him as a player.
I used to dig him off the field too until I followed him on twitter during the lockout.
