Actually with Peterson on the Bears I wouldn't see you guys losing a game.
I actually saw Peterson beat the Bears by himself one game...has Forte ever done that?
You can talk all the numbers you want...all the system fits you want...but the fact remains should their be a trade tommorow between Forte and Peterson this board would be ecstatic.
If you want, and I play with numbers enough, I could argue that Percy Harvin is just a good return guy and player as Hester. But that would be a lie...just like the title of this thread.
Having this discussion with you would be pointless because you wouldn't be able to understand what the author is trying to say. If we tried to explain it, all you'd hear in your head is how we were calling AP a one trick pony (damn good trick, tho) and you couldn't handle the discussion (AP used to have two tricks tho... carrying the ball and fumbling). Forte is that well rounded player this Bears team needs. If the Bears had your O-line, you're damn right we'd be better off with AP.
That being said, you are right, if the offer was on the table for a straight up trade, we'd take AP and build around him. Only a fool wouldn't at this point.

Guess you missed the memo, so ill fill you in...Forte's rookie year, he was responsible for something like 80% of the Bears offense. So yeah, he has beaten teams all by himself. Well...with some help from the defense of course, but AP has help from his D too.

He missed the whole point of the guys article Jimmors. It wasn't about Forte being better than AP it was about his being as good or nearly his equal as an all around back. When you take into consideration rushing, receiving, blocking and tendency to fumble as Joyner did the two are very comparable and of about equal value to their respective teams. That fact seemed to go right over our Viking fans head.

Just wanted to point out that based on this article and the deal DeAngelo Williams just signed, (5yrs @ $43 mil w/$21 mil guaranteed) Matt Forte stands to make up for that rookie 2nd round deal very quickly. I hope they come to an agreement and extend him before the year is out. I don't want to see another Briggs like deal going on next spring.

Don't worry. With the way things are working out right now, Jerry Angelo will have half of the Bears wanting out of their current contracts.

Well I guess year end is coming early since we may not make it out of camp before he gets his extension. Great timing on this huh?
