Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari split amid reports he hated ‘the hoopla’

Close friends of Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari — who may have already run out and bought an early wedding present — may soon be returning those gifts. The couple reportedly have ended their engagement — news first tweeted by Billy Bush of “Access Hollywood.”

A source at The Beverly, the popular L.A. nightspot, told this column Sunday that Cavallari was in the club Saturday — sadly sharing the news with pals, including Nicky Hilton.
“She was not wearing her engagement ring,” added the source, “and you could tell she was upset.”

As for the reality TV personality and Chicago Bears quarterback reconciling, Cavallari was overheard saying, “I don’t know. … I don’t think so.”

Another source, close to Cutler, was not surprised by the breakup. “I never felt those two had much in common,” said the Bears insider. “Plus Jay is such a private guy. ... He hated all the hoopla and press attention Kristin brought with her. He doesn’t even like having to deal with the sports media — let alone the world of celebrity press, the tabloids and stuff like TMZ.”

A People.com source also indicated Cutler had called things off. “She got dumped. She’s absolutely devastated. She can’t believe this is happening,” said the People source about the ex-“Laguna Beach” star, who reportedly was planning a Chicago wedding for next summer.

After the couple’s wedding registry information (at Crate & Barrel and Williams-Sonoma) went public recently, it was learned they had set a July 7, 2012 date for their marriage. Together for 10 months, Cutler proposed to Cavallari on a Mexican vacation in April.
At press time, there was no official confirmation of the split from the couple’s spokespeople

This doesn't come as much of a surprise to me either. I've never seen a photo of the two together where he was smiling and looked happy. There was always the chance of way too much publicity and attention following him around and that's not his style. No sense being uncomfortable with it. I just hope it doesn't cause him any distraction going forward. Even though it was his idea these things still have a way of sticking in there for a while.

I've rarely, if ever seen a picture of him smiling or happy....just sayin...

But ya if he doesn't want much press, don't date a celebrity.

Report: Cutler calls off spring wedding; fiancée 'devastated'

The Chicago weather must be getting to him, because it appears Bears quarterback Jay Cutler just got some cold feet.

People.com cited a source Sunday in reporting that Cutler has called off his engagement to reality television star Kristin Cavallari after just 10 months together.
"She got dumped," a source told People. "She's absolutely devastated. She can't believe this is happening."

The couple, who were planning a spring wedding, became engaged in April, when Cutler proposed in Mexico. Cavallari had planned to move to Chicago during the upcoming football season.

A rep for Cavallari, who starred in "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills," had no comment.

Cutler led the Bears to the NFC Championship Game last season, his second with the team after three seasons in Denver. He received criticism from fans and NFL players alike when he left the NFC title game with an injury in the second half and didn't return.

OOOOO, that was harsh. Funny as hell but harsh.

Too bad because she is a hottie but I doubt Jay will ever have any problems attracting those.

Yeah I put up a post over in the General Forum on it too. I can see it. She's all bright lights and glamor and he likes his privacy. As long as her star is shining as brightly as his they'd be a front page couple everytime they turned around. Anytime they had even a small disagreement in public it would have been news. All I hope is that this doesn't become a distraction for him.
