The same cannot be said about some other FA Wr's out there ( the egomaniacs whose names I won't list ).

then Sims-Walker may be a possession receiver/red zone threat. We could find a use for a guy like that....
I just combined these two posts because they uncover the same thing about him. One, that he is more of a posession receiver and two, that he knows how to find the end zone when inside the opponents 20 yard line. That's scoring production that, of our receivers, only Greg Olsen matched. No question that he's the kind of taller bigger body type guy that Cutler has asked for.
It's a plus that he likes Chicago and has a friendship with Forte but I also think a lot of guys would love to work with Cutler and Martz. He's just bold enough to come out and say it. I don't really see him as an upgrade so much as adding that bigger WR element that we don't have. I guess the question here is whether or not Martz thinks he has the precision running routes that he's looking for.

Answer, hell know, we don't want/like/need a WR over 2'10" Cutlers wants be damned. Small and quick are the way to go.
I'm not a huge fan of sims walker, but like you said, this is a guy we could use in the redzone; a guy that can be an outlet for Cutler when he's in trouble. In that regard he's a huge upgrade.
I think from what we are finding out; the real problem w/DA was his hight; not his mind, hands or anything else....

They never said they wouldn't buy Jay a bigger WR they just said they wouldn't spend big time on one. Sims-Walker isn't a top tier guy no matter what he may think. He's actually pretty limited as far as his game goes but historically he does well in the red zone which is really where we need the help. So you're 100% right Ric. In that regard he would be a huge upgrade.
Based on what they're probably willing to spend he'd most likely be a good choice but I keep getting the feeling that they'll play it differently and maybe cull someone's cap casualty from the waiver wire. At this point there's no telling what they'll do. They haven't even made their intentions clear regarding the Oline.
