We’ve reported this exhaustively in recent weeks, but we now have an official list of Bears free agents.
Rules in the recently-approved collective bargaining agreement permit the Bears to start contacting the representatives of players on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Teams can extend offer sheets Friday at 5 p.m.
Here’s the team’s list:
Restricted free agents
QB Caleb Hanie: The Bears have right of first refusal if another team signs Hanie to an offer sheet. But if the club declines to match the offer, it receives no compensation in return because Hanie came into the NFL in 2008 as an undrafted free agent.
Unrestricted free agents
DT Anthony Adams
S Josh Bullocks
TE Desmond Clark
QB Todd Collins
WR Rashied Davis
CB Corey Graham
LB Brian Iwuh
C Olin Kreutz
S Danieal Manning
P Brad Maynard
LB Nick Roach
LB Pisa Tinoisamoa
LB Rod Wilson
RB Garrett Wolfe
The deadline for the Bears to sign these players is 3 p.m. on Sept. 3. Should the team lose any of these free agents, they receive no compensation.
Players with fewer than four accrued seasons who received no qualifying offer or no minimum tender from their old club:
WR Devin Aromashodu

WR
Devin Aromashodu Gonna bump this back up today since it's getting to the point where we should start hearing something about vet FA signings. To me here are the priorities.
1) Olin Kruetz: We have no adequate replacement and he's the heart and soul of the line. Give him a good deal and let him retire a Chicago Bear.
2) Anthony Adams: When your defensive captain and co-best defensive starter says that re-signing him is a must then you listen.
3) Corey Graham: I still think he should be given camp time to win a spot at CB and if he fails we've still got the start of our coverage units. What's the big deal Lovie. He didn't ask for a starting job just a chance to earn one.
4) Nick Roach: There are rumors the Bears are looking elsewhere for a vet SLB but since Pisa is still rehabbing re-signing Roach seems like a good idea.
5) Brian Iwuh: For mostly the same reasons you keep Roach. He's a good, not great, backup LB and ST player.
Those are my top 5 guys to bring back into the fold.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
Honey Badger Don't Care. Honey Badger Don't Give a Shit.

Unrestricted free agents
DT Anthony Adams keep
S Josh Bullocks release
TE Desmond Clark keep
QB Todd Collins punch him in the dick and THEN release him.
WR Rashied Davis Release
CB Corey Graham Keep
LB Brian Iwuh I say release simply cause I like what JT brings in terms of potential and ST play (which could easily be on par w/Iwuh)
C Olin Kreutz Keep
S Danieal Manning already seing whats out there, if we can get him back I say do it.
P Brad Maynard already gone (you guys hear about his falling out with Toub?...concerning?)
LB Nick Roach Keep
LB Pisa Tinoisamoa Release (I'm just burned out on yesterday's over the hill ram squad that ain't worth shit.)
LB Rod Wilson release
RB Garrett Wolfe release
also get rid of Manu's big fat stinking ass.... screw that guy. I've never been able to say I hate a bears player... but this guy is as close as it gets. seriously Kellen Davis is 10X better and should be the #2 behind G.O.

Means the Bears definitely need another WR and ST, p. ex. Brad Smith.

This punter, Pudlove or whatever... I'm seeing the deal is $2M a year for 5 years.
This has to be wrong.

Just filed to ESPNChicago.com: Bears in serious jeopardy of losing C Olin Kreutz, who might sign a deal today. With SF.

This just got posted on SBNation
MIke Wright says we're in serious jeopardy of losing Kreutz
and he’s close to signing a deal today. What the fuck are the Bears doing?!?!
I'm gonna be pissed off, too.

rashied davis just got off the phone with the lions and accepted their one-year offer. Wishes the bears would have stepped up their offer.
