Thanks for the post brother.
That's some fresh news we haven't heard anything about before. When it comes right down to it how much different is it then an OC calling plays vs the QB. If it's not working the way you want it to work the coach has the final say since it's his responsibility to see that it is working.
I've always been a Brad Maynard fan but I did notice that our punt coverage hasn't seemed as good during the past two year as it was before. Now I say that without checking the stats but maybe Toub's rationale had a lot to do with the strength of the opponents return team and their preference to go one way or the other with it.
I gotta go with Toub as well. The guy is absolutely the best ST coach in the league IMO.

Did Toub also go out there and shank the kicks for you Brad? Was it Toub whose leg suddenly went dead and failed at a rather consistent rate this season?

Same here. Toub has proven that he knows what he's doing throughout the years. I have faith in his decisions.

Like everyone else, I'll wait until (if ever) the coach has his say.
On the other hand, the article did say this rift started in 2009... when Maynard could punt the ball inside a dixie cup you were holding in your hand 60 yards away.

Who's gonna be holding the ball for a FG now that Brad's gone? Gould, Maynard and Mannelly were a helluva trio.

That would make the most sense since you're always looking for a guy with good hands. I'm sure Robbie Gould will have an interest in who it's gonna be since it's a big element in his success. The rumor is that we're interested in the Jets punter Weatherford so does anyone know if he's a PK holder for them? It's typically the punter or a backup QB on most teams.

Isn't Richmond McGee replacing Maynard?

Well they signed his but I don't think their just handing him the job. They signed another UDFA punter and I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two more in camp eventually if they don't get Weatherford.
