    The Randy Moss Effect

I'm sure I'll get shit on for this thread, but a friend of mine and I got into a discussion about adding a WR and we kept coming back to Randy Moss.

Of course I know he is a head case and that is his biggest knock. And of course I would rather have a talented character guy, but I'm not seeing too many quality WR's in the league who have both talent and character.

Moss has size and excellent hands. He has the ability to be a game changer. Moss, Knox, and Hester? Doesn't that sound scary if you are the opposing secondary? It sounds like opportunity to me. I also think it buys Deep 6 some more time in the pocket because you have to respect, if nothing else, the speed of this WR core. Who do you focus on? Moss and his being a very capable #1 go to guy, or Hester/Knox who can blow by you?

I'm not saying this is a no-brainer, especially because Moss can act like a baby when he's not getting thrown to, but something tells me that Martz could get him to buy in. It's almost as if adding Moss gives our WR core instant credibility.

    I hate Randy Moss, btw.

Claws, was there any of this and this or this involved while you and your friend were having this little discussion about signing Randy Moss? Or is your friend by chance named ?

While I can see the logic of a big name WR that nobody wants being hooked to a team that needs a big name WR, but isn't going to spend $$ on one. However, I don't see the bears offering big money to a legitimate number 1 WR (Is he still one of those? It doesn't matter what randy thinks, it matters what the rest of the nfl thinks), and I don't see Randy taking a job for little money at all. This is before we even get into the bears history on not buying personality problems for the team.

    All of the above, naturally.

I guess I'm stuck on thinking of his skill set rather than his character, which could be a huge mistake. BUT, if he behaves, then what? Then we have a pretty solid bunch of receivers and an obvious number one.

Then...we still need to fix the OL. You can have the 3 best WRs in history, still isnt going to help much when you QB spends half his time laying on his back on the turf with the ball still in his hands.

    You party animal you!

And I can't get past his character. Despite his skills it's his lack of character that usually screws it up for him and his team. After that cluster fvck with Minny I didn't think anyone would take him. The Titans were thinking like you are and got burned too. I don't think we've got the kind of coaching staff that he'd respect and settle in to play for. JMO

I couldn't agree more. OL first and foremost. That being said, a good WR core wouldn't hurt either. Maybe not as many safety/corner blitzes if you have a core that can burn you.

    The thinking. It hurtses me.

What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?
