exactly. Too much stuff that needs to be addressed first, things with deadlines attached to them, and other teams to worry about. Forte will get his, whether its now, or months from now.

That's what angelo gets for paying a bad backup like a decent number 1 rb.
We all knew that the Taylor deal would come back to haunt them if Forte returned to his 1st year form and it will. Couple that with the article comparing him to AP and what DeAngelo Williams just got and if I was investing in Matt Forte as a growth stock I'm all in and on margin. This extension will be costly and he's already been hinting at that so they shouldn't be unprepared for it.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Costly? So you are saying we shouldnt have gotten Taylor so we couldve lowballed Forte?
Fact is, yeah...Bears will have to pay to keep Forte, and they will, and he deserves every penny. He just wont get it right this second.

Sometimes it pays to be a grammar NAZI......
True dat! The thread title should read; "What a Tweeter Thinks About How Matt Forte MAY FEEL About His Contract" or, "How I Feel About Matt Forte's Contract".
Don' be disrespeckin' da man like dat.

We basically have no option but to match the retarded DWilliams deal now. Like it or not, that set the market. The best we can hope for is that we can structure it up front and make it reasonable down the road.

Right but the fact that Forte singled out this comment and retweeted it shows where his head is at a little bit and basically provides the foundation that Forte endorses the logic. I found it interesting another tweeter responded to this line of posting with this:
"no is not,you deserve a new deal, but Taylor is a veteran, Matt is playing in his rookie contract, the way it should B"

It looks like forte is contemplating a holdout for a respectful, long-term contract. Dang...we cannot lose both Olsen and Forte. JA had better work this out.

Let him holdout. He can only do it for so long before it counts as a season and Bears still have rights to his contract for next season then. (im assuming, i dont know what the new fancy FA rules are)

True, I'm sure we'll have him for this season but I'd rather keep him for next season and beyond. He might leave out of frustration because the Bears weren't willing to renegotiate his contract.
