I was thinking about this about 10 or 12 hours ago. It's possible that the reason the Bears have not been too aggressive in FA is they are sitting on the money in order to match/exceed any offer to key Bear FA vets (read Kreutz). As an aside, it may be that there is someone(s) offering Olin big money in either an effort to lure him away from the Bears (most likely a rival), or is just pushing up the price to sign Olin so that the Bears don't have the money to go after some other FA. Stranger things have happened....
"Professional Armchair Quarterback" and other oxymora.....

The simple fact of the matter is that we have no idea what the Bears are doing. I wish I could be behind the scenes to see what's going on but it's all speculation at this point. I'm going to hold off my temper until it is clear that we screwed the pooch.

Just keep in mind that a lot of guys will be cut between now and tomorrow at 5, or whenever signings can start. If it comes this time Saturday or Sunday, players are disappearing, and we haven't done a thing to improve this team, then I'll start to get upset.
Edit: I'm glad we didn't get Brad Smith... that contract was too much for him.
Yep and too much for Rice as well. A downfield WR like Rice does us no good at all if we can't give Cutler enough protection to use him that way and right now we don't have that protection. What concerns me more is what we're doing about Olineman and another quality pass rusher.
No offense can function well without a good line leading the way. It does start in the trenches and we need to stop protecting our multi million dollar QB and blocking for our soon to be multi million dollar RB with bargain basement lineman like OMG and young players still learning the ropes. Since we seem to be by passing other players and positions I can only hope that we'll spend it on two vet lineman, one OT and one OG, annnnndddddd that we stop f'ing around and get Olin Kruetz autograph on a contract.
We made a good move going after Jason Babin but lost out to Philly more due to his relationship with their dline coach and a preference for playing with them than the $$$ in my opinion. Bad break because to me he would have been a very good solution for two to three years while we restocked at DE around him, Izzy and Peppers. So now we're back to square one and still in search of one.
Right now I get my own guys signed at OC, NT, LB, and STeams while the Oline situation sorts itself out. Then I go after my two guys hard and fast. What concerns me is that isn't what they're gonna do.

Ok and I'll let them know where theycan get a good deal on condoms and leash when it happens because I'm afraid that pup is beginning to howl. Like I said my "I like Jerry" meter is on it's way down to join up with 4th's, LOL. JA's got some redeeming to do.

Here is why we should be concerned.
Losing one of our best offensive weapons and maybe Kruetz

Color me concerned I think we are starting to blow it.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

I'm about a couple of days away from reverting myself back to my old motto of "The Chicago Bears are a cheap franchise." I'm watching NFL Network, and Jamie Dukes is having a field day bashing the Bears. He said that we are the only franchise that is taking a step back, while everyone else is taking steps to improve. I firmly believe this, and I'm hoping that we don't see the regression back to the days of Dave Wannestedt and Michael McCaskey.

Yes; yes you should. They've let the "mad genious" take control; and he's a mad moron.

I am concerned, Ric. What am I going to do this season when we don't make the playoffs and only finish at best 9-7?
