    Should we be concerned?

I'm not against the signing of Punter Adam Podlesh, but I feel a little perturbed that the Bears' first free agent signing was a punter. And since then we have only signed Matt Spaeth. Seriously, are the Bears afraid to spend money? Does anyone think I have reason to be concerned?

ESPN said that the Bears were interested in Matt Light. If that's true wouldn't they want to go ahead and get him instead of possibly losing him to another team?

And to add, does anyone else think the Bears missed out on some fine receivers? Just looking to be another frustrating free agency season again...

you gotta take into account players with multiple team offers. the bears can put it on the table, but if they player's arn't biting...

it may not be because the dish isn't good... could be they are just weighing there options, or the could be hammering out details.

with punters and UDFA contracts it's easy. hey your my option where do I sign.... with the bigger names it's more of a chess match of sorts.

And to add to the frustration, Brad Smith agrees to a four-year, $15 million contract Thursday with the Buffalo Bills...

Yeah, that makes sense and I totally agree with you. I just question the bait so to speak!

Good, let Buffalo overpay him, he isn't worth that much.

I'd be a little concerned about the lack of activity, but what concerns me most is the lack of resigning some of our own (Kreutz, Roach, Iwuh, A.Adams).

If we get those guys, I'd be pretty happy. I'd also expect us to make another good signing before tomorrow is up.

Considering the news we're getting about the Kruetz deal, I'd say you might have damn good point DT.

My concern is losing Kreutz. Yes, I know he's at the end of his career, but he's without a doubt one of the best centers in the NFL. So, we lose him and then what? We pay someone maybe half as talented the same salary or perhaps more?

    I'm not worried yet.

Maybe the only FA who signed with another team, that would have been nice is Sidney Rice, but I'm not jumping off the ledge about it.

Just keep in mind that a lot of guys will be cut between now and tomorrow at 5, or whenever signings can start. If it comes this time Saturday or Sunday, players are disappearing, and we haven't done a thing to improve this team, then I'll start to get upset.

Edit: I'm glad we didn't get Brad Smith... that contract was too much for him.

I'd say we have receivers that are pretty close to being a Sidney Rice or a Brad Smith so I can say I overreacted there...

But darn it our O-Line was weak last season and now we are looking to make it weaker by possibly losing Kreutz?!

One thing Jerry does well is draft and pick up special teams players.
