This has the same smell of how lovie got rid of chris Harris for Archuletta. We r about to sign two average wrs instead of going for gold and all we got to show for it is a third round pick that will likely be another ja stinker

We got a 3rd round draft and some linebacker. Mike Sims Walker and Rpy Williams would both be good in Chicago,

Bears reach agreement with former All-Pro WR Roy Williams
Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams catches a pass in corner of the endzone. (Paul Moseley, McClatchy-Tribune / December 5, 2010)
By Brad Biggs Tribune staff reporter 7:16 a.m. CDT, July 29, 2011
The Chicago Bears have gotten a wide receiver to add to the mix and it will be one hungry to prove he's still among the elite in the game.
The team has reached an agreement on a contract with Roy Williams, who was released by the Dallas Cowboys on Thusdsay, according to ESPN.
The Tribune reported yesterday the Bears would be making an aggressive push to reunite Williams with his former offensive coordinator Mike Martz.
Not only is Williams back with Martz, who he had a 1,310-yard season playing for in Detroit in 2006, he's back together with wide receivers coach Darryl Drake, who coached him at the University of Texas. The two men have a close relationship. It all added up to make it an easy decision for Williams, who is looking to reinvigorate his career after he was a trade bust for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.
In the last three seasons in Dallas, Williams had 94 receptions for 1,324 yards and 13 touchdowns. That's not far off from what he did in one season under Martz. As one scout said, when the offense is consistently pumping the ball to Williams, he can be terrific. When he starts to get lost in the game plan, he can begin to stray.
Certainly you would imagine Williams will have an opportunity to win a starting job in a revamped offense that is now without a receiving threat at tight end after Greg Olsen was flipped to the Carolina Panthers for a third-round draft pick.
The Bears are expected to remain busy today when training camp officially opens at Olivet Nazrene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.
As of late Thursday night, the team was still very much in play for cornerback Corey Graham. It's possible a deal for center Olin Kreutz falls into place today.
Players can officially sign contracts at 5 p.m. today.

Roy Williams will not be good anywhere. He cannot catch a pass; and shrinks when a defender is around him. He is a downgrade from Olsen as our big target.

Roy Williams wants to get back the ring he mailed to girlfriend
By Chris Chase
Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams is going to court to get back the $76,000 engagement ring he gave to a former beauty pageant winner.
In February, Williams proposed to his girlfriend, Brooke Daniels. When she turned him down, Daniels didn't return the ring. According to Williams' affidavit that was filed in a Texas court last week, he asked for the ring back but was told by Daniels that she had lost it. An insurance investigation later revealed that Daniels' father was in possession of the ring.
Michael Daniels told the Odessa American that his daughter will return the ring to avoid the lawsuit even though he says he has documentation saying Williams told her to keep it.
Pretty standard stuff, right? Minus the price tag, this is a dispute that probably happens every day in the United States. Except it's not because most people don't propose the way Roy Williams did.
From the Odessa American:
Williams has declined to comment for the story, but in an affidavit signed by Williams, he claims he sent $5,000 for school and dental bills, a baseball for Daniels' brother and — as a surprise — a recorded marriage proposal with the ring through the mail just before Valentine's Day to Daniels. However, when Daniels declined the proposal, she did not return the ring.
He recorded a marriage proposal and then sent the ring through the mail? Unless you're a soldier stationed overseas, that's just about the lamest thing I've ever heard. If you proposed through the mail, wouldn't you not want other people to hear that? I'd consider eating the $76,000 just so I didn't have to tell anyone.
It's a shame Daniels is giving the ring back and avoiding trial because we may have learned the specifics of how Williams went about this process. Was there production value in the video proposal? Did he record it in song form? And how did she reject him, with a return receipt?
Update: TMZ reports Daniels http://www.tmz.com/2011/07/07/roy-wi...#mce_temp_url#. As many of you have pointed out, there's a reasonable chance he then dropped it.

Remember that Cutler is the man of steel, and Jerry Angelo knows this. No amount of Kryptonite on Planet Earth will be able to stop him now, even though he will get sack a hell of a lot more this season.

And that's the crux of the problem isn't it? When Martz gets his way we get screwed and slide back another notch. We wasted money on Manu, we wasted a money on Taylor, and we wasted money and a shot at the Super Bowl on Collins. Now we take away a productive receiver and replace him with a guy whose failed with two teams so far and about to fail with his third. This is progress? Shiiiittttt no!
