Thanks kegger. Wonder what the terms were. KC signed Clayborn, pick #20, for $8.2 mil/4yrs 100% guaranteed. Maybe that's the new approach. Cut back on signing bonuses with minimum salaries, up the salary and guarantee it.

Won't be as difficult to sign rookies with the new deal.

Haven't researched it at all yet but Adrian Clayborn only got $8.2 mil total as the #20 pick. We're used to seeing signing bonuses that big or bigger. KC fully guaranteed his deal and teams now have an option for a 5th year at a significant increase so some guys may get a fairly big 5th year paycheck if they perform.

Here's some figures I saw tweeted:

3rd pick in Draft, Marcell Dareus, gets fully guaranteed deal of 20.4M. Last year's 3rd pick, Gerald McCoy, had a guaranteed 35M.

AJ Green-4th pick in Draft-has fully guaranteed 4-yr deal worth $19.7M. Last yr, 4th pick Trent Williams received $36.8M guaranteed.

10th pick, Blaine Gabbert, gets fully guaranteed 4-yr deal worth 12M. Last yr's 10th pick, Tylson Alualu, had 17.5M gteed.

Thanks for the info kegger. Yeah mo that's what I was posting earlier about the $8.2 mil that Clayborn got. A year ago his signing bonus alone would have been that much and his salaries added to that. It would have been at least a $12 to $15 mil deal. Carimi coming in around $7 mil fits with what Clayborn got considering he went 9 picks later.
