Re-signing Adams, Roach, and Hanie--all good
Gholsten & Okoye--like it, could get some quality PT there.
Hurd (& that Dane S guy from UW)--decent RDavis replacement material, could see Hurd especially play some WR and on ST.
Roy Williams--I'm ok with it, he's got the size (and decent enough speed) we lacked. If he keeps his head straight, could be a gem.
Kreutz--need him for another year and the cost difference ($500k) is a no-brainer
OG--I'm WORRIED that we haven't done anything here!

I guess I disagree a little here about Olsen. Looks like JA just dumped him "to get something for him" because he didn't anticipate paying him next year after his rookie contract was up. You're right about being incomplete--his blocking was subpar--but he was a receiving threat I fear we are gonna miss. I am glad we cut Manu who was an overpaid fat slob and got Spaeth to fill that role.

Overall, I'd give it a C so far (trying to be optimistic).
Re-signing Kreutz and getting a decent OG would make it a B+ imho.

Roy Williams is not a GEM, nor al Gholsten/Okoy quality, they have yet to show that; they are all reaches the team hopes is going to pan out Williams will not; he's not a good wr, and leading the league in drops has nothing to do w/system and everything to do w/being a crap wr. Olsen was a far better big target the RW's. And we haven't addressed our biggest need; and actually have let it get worse; OL. IF that is B-C matrial then your public school system grades WAY to soft. JA is sitting at a solid D right now. We are also short on LB and DB depth. Even if we do resign Olin I think he's lucky to get to the C range.

what do you think about Asante Samuel? What would Philly want and would it be worth it? He would be a upgrade for us and could be had

Philly is going for it THIS year, they are collecting pieces and not getting rid of them. I doubt the make any major moves that remove their talent.

At some point, Philadelphia is going to have to be mindful of the salary cap because they signed Asomugha, Jenkins, and Babin to big contracts. I just wonder where they are on the salary cap radar.

Ya but their QB's are on the cheap man, and their RB is still on a rookie deal. I'm guessing they'll be fine...but won't do much more. Next year is when they will have to make trades/cuts.

We will be able to match Philadelphia on defense, my best guess is. The problem is going to be how our offensive line responds to the pressure that the Eagles will no doubt bring on Cutler. Now, as far as I know, the only two really dangerous pass rushers on the Eagles are Cullen Jenkins and Jason Babin. I think the rest of the DL are pretty vanilla, but I could be wrong; I don't keep up with Philadelphia much.

Ya but Cutler loves throwing Int's to DB's, and will not be deterred from it; just look at the WASH game last year.

I know, but they have 3 ProBowl CBs. Maybe they want an upgrade somewhere else and Samuel could be had

Right now we wouldn't spend the $$$ on Samuel even if he was a Free Agent, which he's not. I can't see us hire a CB with that kind of a price tag with all the $$$ we have tied up in other defensive positions. That's another one of those positions on the Bears that doesn't get a very big budget. Because of the zone defenses we usually play top cover corners are not needed. Not saying it wouldn't be nice to have him but I don't see that kind of a thing happening around here.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Has anyone heard about what has happened with Leonard Davis? I know that it is not likely that he will catch on and earn a starting job, but I'm curious.
