since we're out of options at guard, I say we have to sign Hayden. We can't send Jennings out there again and think we're gonna compete against the pack's receivers

Jennings wasn't half bad against the Packers' wide receivers when he played closer to the line. Now, I'm interested in seeing how either D.J. Moore or Zack Bowman do opposite Peanut. Either one of them are more physically gifted than Jennings is. The only problem with Bowman is that he is more of a man-to-man cover guy.

Hayden wouldn't mind coming home
Free-agent cornerback Kelvin Hayden has plenty of options. Playing for his hometown Bears is one of them.
"It would be great to come home and play for the home team," Hayden told the Tribune on Saturday. "It would be a great situation, playing with a great defense and an explosive offense."
Multiple sources familiar with the Bears' thinking confirmed the team has an interest in Hayden, who was released by the Colts. The former Illinois and Hubbard standout recently visited the Redskins and has two more visits lined up, but not one to Chicago yet.
At least nine teams, including the Bears, have expressed an interest in Hayden. The 28-year-old veteran hopes to select a new team by Thursday.
"I would love to play for the Bears, but I'm looking at all my options," he said. "It's not all about money."
The Bears' Cover-2-based defensive scheme is similar to the one he played in six seasons with the Colts. Hayden has nine career interceptions and has returned three for touchdowns. He intercepted a Rex Grossman pass and returned it 56 yards for a game-changing score in Super XLI, a 29-17 Colts win over the Bears.
Although the Bears are content with a cornerback group that includes starters Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings and backups Zack Bowman, Joshua Moore and Corey Graham, the 6-foot, 190-pound Hayden would only bolster the group. Hayden was the Bears' top free-agent target in 2009 before he signed a five-year, $43 million deal ($22 million guaranteed) with Indianapolis.
He was due a base salary of $6.1 million this season while coming off a neck injury. Hayden said his health is fine now, and he holds no hard feelings toward the Colts.
The Bears also have inquired about free-agent linebacker Lofa Tatupu.

I'm just surprised we didn't bring in more competition or reclamation projects like we do with the D-line.

F**** Hayden. I wouldn't sign him on a community-service based contract.

say what you want, but he would make us a better team. Isn't that whats all about when it comes to FAs?

I'd take him on the team like i'd take Brett Favre. Hell, in the 06 training camp, I yelled at Benson that I hope he breaks his leg, as every other player was signing autographs, yet he rode off on a cart after practice (he did injure his knee in the SB), and I wished Ricky Manning Jr. nothing bad bad luck for being a ****. This ****** basically pulled the trigger on our SB chances, and I wouldn't take him, point blank.
