Ben Leber is a possibility at LB.
Leonard Davis and Eric Heitmann are the OL's still available.

Already got Graham under contract again. I'd rather have Pisa if he's healthy but Leber could be a good pickup if he's not. So far Lovie has annointed Roach the starter at SLB so I'm assuming anyone who cames in now has to take a backseat or beat him out.
Davis fits the Mike Tice prototype of bigger guys but will he be able to keep his weight in check anymore. The guy has been tremendously durable throughout his career and he plays with mean streak like Tice looks for but if he can't stay at or below 350lbs at his age he'll have all the mobility of a dump truck. I guess if he's available now as another Dallas "blue light special" it can't hurt to bring him in and see what kind of shape he in.
It's not like we don't have a little more $$$ to throw around on filling the gaps with more of the NFL's version of caulk. It would be a lot nicer though if we could make permanent repairs, LOL.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Kirk Morrison at LB Sean Locklear at OL.

I agree with sox, more depth at OL and LB and time to throw some serious $$$ at Forte before it's too late and the front office piss him off a la Kreutz, Olsen...
Maybe the Bears are saving room to throw at all these one year deal scrap heap FAs we've signed after a good season? Or maybe they've got an eye on next years FA class. Or maybe we've just bottled it.
Asante Samuel is said to be unhappy with his status with Eagles and it sounds like they'd trade him for the right price. Would cost a player and a 1st rounder probably. But he's still a big play guy . Tempting ?
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

No way this team would give up even a first for him or any other CB no matter how good. This comes up often but bears mentioning again. As long as we play Lovies Tampa-2 we will never need or seek a big time cover corner. Our guys need to play with their faces to the play, learn how to cover an area and not a man, and be very very good tacklers. The reason Zack Bowman struggles with it is because he's a man to man corner and doesn't get his role in the zone as well as he should.
Asante Samuel is a great CB but he's not a fit for the Bears and especially not at that price. JMO.

extend Forte
Sign Tatupu
resign Pisa for depth

Well, Dez is back, and Osi is to be had for a second. That would solidify our d-line for a few years, and may even put us over the top defensively.
-
no way we give up a 2nd for Osi....I'd do it don't get me wrong, but JA and co' aren't looking to spend that kind of money on a new contract. If they were we would have at least new top OG and possibly an OT to boot.
-
I'd like to believe that, Rizcaj, but it seems like, unless it's a rotational position, or it's a "guaranteed" player, I don't see 'em doing THAT.

Can't believe the Giants would let him go for a 2nd!!!! We take Osi for a low 2nd but get a high 3rd for Olsen? Wow this picks for players scale is very screwy to say the least. No doubt he's worth the pick but as you say Ric not worth the cost. At least not to us this year.
Signing Gholston was our "shot in the dark" equivalent of getting a guy like Osi. If it works JA looks like a genius and if it doesn't he can say that it was a low risk gamble anyway. Not so with Osi and I think after Taylor and Manu last year Ted Phillips put him on a very short leash with the years FA signings. JMO but it sure looks that way from here.
