They won't spend anymore $$$ on a WR now that they signed RWill and Hurd. I would much rather have had Floyd but his champagne price didn't fit JA's dumpster diving beer budget. Floyd isn't the underperformer that Williams has been but Williams came cheap on a one year deal whereas Floyd is looking for a long term contract.
Signing Gaither would be like taking a chance on a guy with a known back injury all over again. We had that problem with CWill in his rookie year remember? Oakland wanted Gaither and it was almost a done deal when they backed away at the last minute. If Oakland doesn't like the looks of him neither would we.
The article I posted on the Oline says Tice is gonna play Webb at LT and Carimi at RT this year. My guess is that they'll still keep OMG around as a backup unless CWill fails at OG and in that case maybe they use him as the backup. There's another young guy, Levi Horn, that Tice has been working with too.
I was just wondering is there some way to work out some form of a three way trade to upgrade the OL? We have extra Olsen pick and some cash.
Trade with who and for whom????? Most teams are trying to solidify their rosters right now and get their new guys up to speed quickly since there weren't any OTA's to do it with. I don't even know who you could find worth trading for except maybe Carl Nicks.
I honestly don't know Soul I'm just trying to conjecture perhaps something we can do to upgrade OL
Wasn't trying to be a smart ass but I don't honestly think there's anybody out there being offered for trade shorty. Olines need to work together to function efficiently so no one wants anymore switching players in and out than necessary with this short prep time that everyone has. I think that's why teams re-signed so many of their own lineman.
All except us of course. We decided to make it even tougher on ourselves by swapping out our OC for a guy who can't even QB the line yet because he doesn't know the scheme or the terminology to run it. One of these years when we finally stop doing this dumb shit we may win a Super Bowl again.
There are still a couple of FA lineman out there worth considering based on their past play but whether or not they fit what we're doing I don't know. Martz says he's still looking for vet lineman for his offense and Jerry says we're done so your guess about what they'll do is as good as mine. Between Lovie, Martz and Angelo I'm not even sure they're all on the same team.
