Well, if he was training with Eric Berry, than he was training with truly one of the very best safeties in the entire NFL. Berry attended the University of Tennessee and was the "Big Man On Campus" during his time down here in Knoxville. Major Wright isn't anywhere near as good as Berry, but if can at least produce like Danieal Manning did last year (Manning didn't give up a single touchdown on his side of the field), then I'll be happy.
Berry is more physically gifted than Wright, but Wright is a helluva player too...and he's self-made. He's totally transformed his game through hard work. If you could've seen him in high school and as a freshman at UF compared to where he's at now, you'd be amazed. Like I said above, he got to college as a one-dimensional player and was a fish out of water in coverage...no range, no coverage skills, he couldn't read a QB, he wasn't comfortable playing the ball in the air, etc...basically a (very) undersized LB. Now he's a legit ballhawk in addition to being an enforcer over the middle. He can play either safety spot and he's still getting better.
He also bring some attitude and swagger with him, but he's got the game to back it up. IMO he should've been the defensive MVP in UF's BCS Championship game win over Oklahoma back in 2008. He had a game high 13 tackles, he intercepted a Bradford pass at the 3 yard line with 0:03 left in the half to keep the game knotted at 7 when it looked like OU was sure to score, but he also had a HUGE hit on the 2nd or 3rd play of the game that set the tone for the game...Sooner WRs had their heads on a swivel and were alligator-arming everything the rest of the night. Check it out:
He's just a very instinctive player that's always around the ball and has a penchant for making big plays and changing games. But I digress...lol.

That was a very good video of Major Wright there, KML. Thanks for the post! He walloped the shit out that Oklahoma receiver.
