Could Kreutz leaving be good for Cutler?

I've been thinking about the fact that Kreutz is gone. Certainly, we will miss him making the calls for the line. Some say we will miss his leadership. I'm wondering if his being the unquestioned leader of the locker room prevented Cutler from taking that role. And maybe, just maybe Cutler needs to be the leader in order to perform his best.

Just thinking out loud, but we could see Cutler emerge as the unquestioned leader of the offense....finally.

He should but I don't see it happening until he gets more comfortable dealing with the media too. I think he's fine on the field and in the huddle but he's not much of a spokesperson away from there.

Olin's been calling the O-line shots for so long, there may be even more trouble than last year, unless Spencer can step up. As far as "leadership" goes, Phillip Rivers is nothing short of a punk, and shows it every chance, but yet finds ways to play at an All-Pro status. I think too much is put into Cutler "leading" this team. He just needs to make the plays, and the rest will sort itself out (I think winning a SB would take him from looking "combative" to the media, to a "quiet leader")

I think people need to move on that Olin was not playing that great the last couple of years. Yeah he was good when he was younger but there were several times he blocked nobody or whiffed on blocks and our RB and QB paid for it. I am tired of hearing how he was the leader or called the plays for the OL because we completly sucked last year. It it were not for Jay's legs we would have probably set a sack record last year.

For the time being the job falls to Garza and he's already commented on it. He says that he's been fortunate enough to play next to Olin for 11 years and has learned a lot about being the Oline leader from him. I can believe that much is true but whose gonna punch out the other guys when they get out of line?
