I think they would have a better shot if they just grabbed some day workers from Home Depot. Seriously.

I admit that it's a little stereotypical but it doesn't stray that far from the mark yttocs. I've lived there and I've known and worked with city employees both in Chicago and in other places where I've lived. They show up on time, do their jobs as well as they can and go home for the day. End of story. I'm not anti-union I'm just saying that most hourly employees don't have a vested interest in the result. That's the supervisors job. That's what he's paid for.

I figured that somebody would misinterpret what I meant by this. What I'm implying is that if you want to solve this problem you put a crew in charge who work for whoever has the most to gain or lose from the results of their work and that would be the Bears. Like the old adage goes; "if you want it done right, do it yourself", that's the only 100% assurance you ever have.

Less unions less middle class? LOL, where have you been for the last 30 years? The middle class isn't just comprised of those who are protected by labor unions. There were a lot of middle class employees in management as well and American business and industry has been doing a very effective job of downsizing and/or eliminating that group over the years as well. The destruction of the middle class is the root cause of much of economic problems we have today only no one seems to acknowledge that. I am not anti-union and I'm definitely not anti-middle class.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
