Tell Everybody; Lovie loves D.J. Moore.....................................
Smith likes way Moore plays
Bears nickel back takes advantage of opportunities with 5 interceptions in camp

BOURBONNAIS — Lovie Smith always seems giddy when discussing D.J. Moore, and Moore's five interceptions in training camp have made Smith that much more animated.
"He's a playmaker,'' the Bears coach said of the third-year nickel back. "He has great instincts for the position. He's a student of the game.''
There is, however, one aspect Smith continues to nitpick. He wants to see Moore improve against the run.
The often cynical Moore respectfully brushed off his coach's constructive criticism.
"I tackle well,'' Moore said. "It's more the aggressiveness of the tackle. I mean, I tackle fine. But (Smith) wants more of a Monsters of the Midway mentality; everybody going out almost hurting yourself. And it's not just me. He holds everybody to that standard: If you're small, tackle big.''
Moore plays bigger than his 5-foot-9, 180-pound frame would indicate. He made an impact last season with four interceptions, including one he returned 54-yards for a touchdown. Several in camp have resembled those unusual bounces he benefited from last season.
Luck? Not exactly.
"It's just a game of opportunities,'' Moore said. "It's not like I'm doing something outrageous with those interceptions. It's people missing passes, tipping them and I'm around the ball. Being in the middle of the defense, you're going to have opportunities that you have to take advantage of.''
Not much has changed about Moore's approach this season, although he no longer has the head coach dissecting his every move. Assistant Mikal Smith, Lovie's son, has spent the majority of time working with Moore in camp as his father has relinquished his nickel back coaching duties.
"There's a little bit of a difference,'' Moore said. "(Mikal is) a little uptight because he's wants all the loose ends tied, this being his first time working with me. But he's good.''
By now, Moore has most of it figured out anyway. It's just a matter of remaining consistent.
"Every (shortcoming) we've identified with D.J., he has taken care of,'' Lovie Smith said. "He'll take care of that run support too. … I don't have a lot of complaints when it comes to D.J. Moore.''
Just a bunch of compliments.

If he can get that many picks every year we can probably forgive him for not hitting like a LB. He's a little guy so I hope he can stay healthy all year but it's a comfort to know that we have another smurf DB in Tim Jennings who could probably back him up if needed.

So far I'd say Marcus Harrison but he had to get a much bigger doghouse than the one he used for Corey Graham.

Those small and quick short area athletes at NB can have a very low-key but important impact. They don't stand out to opposing QB's like the safety build guys like DMan and Graham, and Moore had a knack for sneaking up through coverage last season. Give them Moore's hands and instincts and they can be lethal. Liked him coming out of college because of those last two things, and it's showing up at the pro level now. Heck, he had two picks called back on penalties last year, so I expect him to see a boost there this year.

WTF lol it looks as if his barber wasn't finished.

Looks almost like a scar but it's in the wrong area for a frontal lobotomy so I'll be damned if I know what it is. Maybe Bull is right. He stiffed his barber the time before and this was revenge, LOL.
It looks like he does have a scar on his forehead though. Maybe they both came for an accident. Should we tweet him and ask?
