No, Olsen asked for a trade as soon as Martz was hired but JA denied him then after Martz indicated that he planned to use him more JA traded him when he asked for an extension. Completely different set of circumstances.

Yes, Olsen asked for a trade and he was denied. At the time, after he was denied, Olsen denied asking for one and Angelo and Co. also denied it.
Now, stories changed and Angelo admits he wanted to be traded back then.

Johnny Knox is ready to fight for his starting job. He's also not ready to leave Chicago.
Amid
a report in Thursday's edition of the
Chicago Tribune suggesting Knox could push for a trade after being demoted, the Bears wide receiver took to Twitter vowing his commitment to the team.

Watch preseason games LIVE online in HD. Get the Back to Football special at NFL.com/preseasonlive. "If y'all think ima give up that easy y'all crazy!!!!!!," Knox tweeted, adding "Ima put all that small talk to rest."
The potential trade talk comes as Knox learned this week that he will begin the year behind newcomer Roy Williams on the depth chart. That makes Knox the team's No. 4 option, with
Devin Hester the starting flanker and
Earl Bennett playing in the slot. Knox reiterated his feelings on any plans to seek a trade on Thursday.
"I’m a Bear, and I want to stay a Bear for life," he said,
according to the Chicago Tribune.
It's all quite a turn of events for Knox, who was Chicago's leading receiver last year. In just his second season, he finished with 960 yards and five touchdowns.
Offensive coordinator Mike Martz elaborated to the Tribune why the decision was made.
"He just has to get better. He has to play better," Martz said. "That's all. It's just like when Johnny came in, Earl (Bennett) was the starter. We pushed Earl aside for Johnny because of the speed. We kind of gave that job to Johnny. That wasn't really earned. And once you get in this league, you should earn.
"(Knox) just was not ready, not because he can't do it or he's not talented. The preparation, the consistency that's required ... he does a lot of good things, but they have to be good all the time. That's what Roy is." Did he just say RW is consistent ? Ok ... believe it when I see it.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Nope. All that came out was a rumor that the Bears and Pats were dickering over a trade for him involving the Pats 2010 second round pick. Those rumors were neither confirmed or denied by anyone at that time. Not Olsen and not the Bears. The first time we heard anything about it was when JA made it known right after he traded Olsen to Carolina.

Apparently you do not remember the pages and pages and pages of DB throwing this and that out there.
I will give you that Olsen and Angelo never confirmed or denied as I do not remember that much that well. But what I do remember is basically everyone saying that story was bullshit. And how the reporter was making shit up.

No he's saying that he's inconsistent which is why RWill is playing ahead of him. Now this comes just days after Matt Bowen of NFP wrote and evaluation of the Bears receivers (see thread) and claimed that Knox was the best "pure route runner" of the group. Seems to be a little difference of opinion there I'd say but since Martz is the coach I guess we'll have to believe him (chuckle, chuckle, chuckle), or not.
Remember Mike Martz, the OC who said he had big plans for both Greg Olsen and Earl Bennett is his offense this year. Since then Olsen has been traded and Bennett is now the #4 WR.
He's also saying now that Knox never earned that #1 spot but rather that he was pushed ahead of Bennett in the mix because of his speed. I'm curious just how Mike defines the word earned. To me if your skills or other attributes make you more valuable than another in any job I'd say that you earned it. I don't think he just gave it to Knox out of sympathy or because he had photos of him screwing another coaches wife.
All I can say is that Mike Martz mind is like the weather here in Colorado. It can rain like hell for an hour and then the sun comes out and there isn't a cloud in the sky two hours later. And like our weather he's pretty difficult to predict.

As it turns out DB's opinions or thoughts were not true fact although they may have been stated as such. Something that a lot you claimed he did often. I don't know and I'm not here to argue that or pass judgement on it. I do remember that all there was were rumors, neither confirmed or denied by either party but it's now a known fact that Olsen did ask for a trade. JA spoke it and Olsen didn't deny it. However, Johnny Knox has denied it as has WR coach Darryl Drake and in a rather angry and vociferous manner too I might add.
It's pure bullshit from the mind of Brad Biggs who thought it might make a good story to write how Knox was so incensed about the #1 spot just being handed to someone else that he might quit and ask for a trade.

Don't tell me Hester is #2.

Interesting sound bite played this morning
Reporter: how do you think that came out
Knox: not the way I wanted it to
Hmmmmm
