For those who don't know u can look up former ESPN sportscaster/journalist Gary Miller ( and his antics ) on Wiki. Edited to the Jay Mariotti award it's more fitting.

Anyways ...... for stirring up the non-existent Johnny Knox trade rumor and even being enough of an ass to write an article about it; the 1st ever nomination goes to Brad Biggs. Way to go Biggsy. That was real nice of ya'.

I am not willing to write this off as a bogus report just yet.

Remember the Olsen "I want to be traded" story a few years ago? It was denied all over the place. After he was traded, word came out that every word of that earlier story was true.

And for the record, he never said he WILL ask for a trade. Or that he DID!

Of course it is. There is always an unnammed source. That is reporter code for inserting their own thoughts into a story.

Sometimes it is true, sometimes it is not.

Bottom line, when someone asks to remain anonymous a good reporter keeps his word and will not reveal the source

Oh not you don't. You can't take that one word out of the phrase and use it to interpret what that phrase means. That's taking the meaning of the word "chance" out of context. Bad Benji, Benji Bad!

The phrase "better than a fair chance" is usually taken to mean things like; "quite likely", better than average", "odds are good", "more than even", "a liklihood", etc., etc., etc, ad nauseum. The phrase does not mean that it's pure speculation although that's what it must be in the author's mind, LOL.

What the hell are you talking about?

I am just saying, you can not write off the thought, because that same thing was used a year ago when Martz was hired.

"Unnamed sources said Olsen wanted a trade"
Olsen says that is not true
Angelo says that is not true
fast forward a year
Angelo admits, yes he wanted to be traded a year ago

Just cause it is an unnamed source, does not mean that it is always just the reporters thoughts and opinions.
