So much for the First Fan having a lot of faith in Jay Cutler.

President Barack Obama, a self-proclaimed fan of Chicago sports teams (although he once failed to name a single player of the White Sox in a game broadcast), has piled on Cutler.
The Green Bay Packers visited the White House this afternoon to celebrate their Super Bowl XLV championship. Naturally, the Packers gave him a little grief and you’ll recall there was some back-and-forth involving cornerback Charles Woodson last season.
So, Woodson presented Obama with some stock certificate in the ballclub, making him one of the hundreds of thousands of shareholders.

“Today 112,000 people own a piece of this franchise, it is the only publicly owned team in pro sports,” Obama said during the ceremony broadcast on whitehouse.gov. “Even a Bears fan can admit that the relationship between Green Bay and its team is something special.”

Then, the new part-owner of the club suggested a move he believes will help his team. “If I’m a part owner, I think we should initiate a trade to send (Aaron) Rodgers down to the Bears,” Obama said.

Screw you Mr. President. You just lost the Chicago vote and the Wisconsin vote.

Can't poor Jay Cutler get any respect anywhere. That was a shitty thing to say even in jest.

I would much rather have Aaron Rodgers. He is far better than Jay Cutler. Even a Bears fan can admit that!

That's beside the point Benji. Why would you put down your own teams QB in favor of the one from your biggest rival? Not exactly a politically smart thing to say.

You may take Rodgers over Cutler but I wouldn't. I still think all we've seen is the tip of the iceberg with Cutler and that he'll end up as an All-Pro QB before his career is through. Rodger is more developed now because he had the chance to do it behind Favre with coaching and in a system that favors him. Jay Cutler hasn't had the benefit of that until now and although I don't care for Mike Martz undeniably he's the best thing to happen to Jay Cutler thus far in his career. Jay Cutler is nowhere near his peak yet.

    I would still take Rodgers.

Rodgers has been starting for a shorter period of time and is already better and is only going to get better. Maybe Cutler could as well, but at the moment, Rodgers is the best QB in the division and might be the best in the conference. Do you honestly think that Cutler would ever reach that point? I don't.

I love Cutler, and he is the best that we have had at that position for a long ass time. But I would ditch him for Rodgers any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Smart thing for Obama to say? Not likely, but I am sure more Bear fans agree with him than dont.

We must disagree. Cutler may be the best the Bears have had in forever, but he will never be the best in the conference.

We must agree to disagree here.

That trade would be the one and only thing he does right in his presidency. Too bad it won't happen.

been here since 11 and they just offered us some water...thx

I'm just happy to have a decent qb. You can bring in someone great but you never know how it will go.
