all kidding aside, the kid had a decent game. You may not have liked it, but if you watch that game again, he did well. He had consistent pressure while he was out there, no sacks, but he did get pressure. If he can continue to show that, he's worth a roster spot. Maybe you just need to quit being angry with angelo and watch with an open mind

I was watching him, I zeroed in on him on every play that he was in for, was rewinding etc and it was below average at best. Don't get me wrong, I was intrigued when we got him and I want him to do great ( anything from any player that helps the Bears win ) but I don't ever put on the rose-colored glasses. He has to get a helluva lot better b4 he's going to make an impact here or anywhere else. I'm hoping for the best.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

So JA will pop for these guys but the recent OL castoffs not even a sniff. The tentpole strategy works great once in awhile but even it has it's drawbacks.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Like the guy. I think the 3-4 scheme in buffalo stinks and he can help us.

don't get you wrong? what were you expecting in his first pre-season game with a new team? If you did in fact watch and rewind, then you saw the kid get some pressures. I don't know what more you want. I certainly don't see the next Julius Peppers, but I did see more than I ever saw from Manderson.

That much I agree with you on Nick but at least they do need to be able to rush decently. When you look at guys like Gholston and Maybin who set the NCAA on fire as college pass rushers and they can't even get a single one in two or three years in the NFL it does raise some eyebrows. Maybe the problem is that these guys aren't the 3-4 rushbackers the Jets and Bills tried to make them into so they're entitled to a chance with their hands in the dirt but it's shouldn't be an extended chance that's all.
I posted an article about Mario Addison and what his background is and he may be a very good reason why a guy like Maybin may not be worth the time or the expense. Addison is another undersized DE who tore it up in college until he broke his hand and dropped out of the draft. He came out of Troy University in Alabama, the same school that produced DeMarcus Ware and Osi Umeyiora. I think you read the post about his and although he wasn't mentioned Nick Reed looked real good as well on Saturday night.
Gholston didn't look too bad in the Bills game but to me both Addison and Reed looked better as far as their burst and penetration. I'd keep giving those two the reps before I added one more "no sack" vet pass rusher to camp.

Thanks for the input jvc400. I was looking forward to hearing from someone who'd seen him play at PSU. And Nick, if he just added 20-25 he'd be ok because the last Dlineman I remember playing at around 225lbs was Alan Page in the late 70's or realy 80's and this guys no Alan Page. Besides big Olineman only went abou 280lbs then not 350lbs. I don't know what Maybin was thinking but 228lbs is too light even for a situational pass rusher if he's playing DE.

Yeah if he has $750k to spend maybe he sould be looking at one of the OG's or OT's still looking for a deal. We could use vet depth on the Oline much more than another pass rusher whose never had an NFL sack.

I really think he can be the next Jason Taylor. He just isn't built to go through guys. He put up good numbers even in the big games. Puz left. Buffalo's anemic defense as well.
