Okoye is the guy I'm really excited about. I think we should count ourselves lucky that Houston went to a 3-4 and released him. Call it payment for their signing Danieal Manning, LOL. When I think about the fact this this kid is only 24 years old and already has 4 years of NFL experience I get excited. He's just now maturing mentally and physically and should be ready to really break out with the right coaching and in the right system. The fact that he's in rotation with Melton will help too. I have no doubt those two will push one another.
What surprises me is that Addison is getting so much ink when Nick Reed looks as good or better and we hear nothing about him. To me both he and Addison look better than Gholston has so far as far as pure pass rushers. If Gholston listens to Marinelli and learns how to harness his talent he may have a better upside but the chances of him failing are equally great. One way or the other two of the three should make the final cut and play until Wootton returns.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

One or both of those guys may make the team ..... but only if they look at actual production and haven't fallen in love with a name that hasn't made a name for himself yet.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

I'm all for keeping Okoye but Gholston not unless he can at least show something in the pre-season. I don't wish us to hold on to him like we did w/Manderson.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Not if Addison an/or Reed show the upside and the desire that he doesn't. What he has going for him though is that we gave him some upfront jingle, $250k.

That's what I am saying Soul. I hope Addison and Reed both keep showing something and make the team. Gholston from what he's shown so far isn't much to keep.

Once again the 6th overall played like he should have been a 6th rounder. I'm not seeing anything that makes me say we gotta keep this guy. There's 2 weeks left to wake-up.

#70 Reed comes off the ball like he's shot from a rocket. Both he and Addison over Gholston at this point.

You know I watched Gholston lined up at LDE and he comes off like he was shot out of a gun too. The problem is all he does is rush straight up field like he was being timed in the 10 yards dash. Not once did I see him turn his rush toward the pocket. He just blew right by like he had no interest in engaging the blocker. If all he was trying to do was show off his speed then he succeeded but as far a showing any football skills as a pass rusher.........zero!
This guys another John Thierry. Built like Tarzan but plays like Jane. It's no wonder the Jets gave up on him. He doesn't want to actually play the game he only wants to look good doing it. He's a waste and they'd be far better off keeping Nick Reed over both him and Addison. To date Reed shows up much better as a pass rusher than either of them. He's the keeper along with Addison and you cut Gholston. Now let Reed and Addison compete for the 4th DE spot and the loser goes to the PS when Wootton returns. Gholston is still too used to how easy he had it in college and he's just not up to playing with the physicality it takes to play in the NFL.
