Some bright spots.
Marion Barber is a BEAST! When Lovie and co. finally decide...no realize, that Taylor isn't going to help our short yardage problems, and that Barber definitely can, we're going to be better.
Gabe Carimi vs. Justin Tuck wasn't bad at all. Carimi held his own against the Probowler. That was GREAT to see.
Matt Forte is looking GREAT! With more O-line gelling, he could have a special year.
Jay Cutler is showing that he can stand in the pocket and deliver downfield strikes.

Bright Spots
Cutler threw some nice passes
Hester, Bennett, & Sanz had solid receptions
Running backs (exc. Taylor) comtinue to impress
Play calling was balanced and appropriate
Iwuh did a nice job filling in for Briggs
NO SIGNIFICANT INJURIES
Webb played much better
Ugliness
Major Wright didn't look ready to be a #1 FS
Still struggling offensively in the red zone
Lance Louis: better but still shaky
DeCicco blown ST block--who's gonna be our 6th LB?
Kick coverage sucked
Roy Williams continues to underwhelm

In reality, the defense gave up 13 points in the first half, seven of which came after Urlacher and Peppers were out of the game, and six of which were as a result of a short field from what I recall. The more I think about it, maybe the defense didn't do so shitty after all. Maybe they "struggled" on paper because of the God awful special teams play. Hopefully, that will get corrected by Week One.

I think starting D gave up what 6 points and then Urlacher and Peppers left, and we didn't have Briggs out there. But I can agree that our secondary is undersized and Tillman consistently keeps letting things happen in front of him. Just once I'd like to see him break on a route and dive in there instead of the safe play.
Yep, and it wouldn't have been a TD anyway since he would have been out of the endzone if he'd caught it. That catch he made along the sideline was a great adjustment on a ball the wasn't thrown to the right spot. He didn't do that as well in the past and had Cutler put it on front of him rather than back shoulder it probably would have been six. Did you guys see how fast he blew past that CB and then opened it up even more!
It was just an incredibly sloppy effort by the Bears. When the number of mistakes you make is greater than the points you score that's a bad game. Hopefully the coaches kick some but this week and few guys pull their heads out of their asses. All except for Roy Williams who's all ass anyway. He can leave his where it is so it'll be a bigger target to kick. The guy sucks.

The playcalling was fine until we got inside the 10 yard line and then it sucked. That's why we struggled in the red zone.
DeCicco is not a guy who could walk in and replace Urlacher even a little. If Lofa Tatupu is willing to humble himself a little and come in for less $$$ and as a backup at MLB and SLB I think we should think about it. Not blocking his guy before release caused a punt to be blocked and gave them an easy score. Rookie or not you don't make that mistake on a Bears defense or special teams. He's not the guy to understudy Urlacher. Unfortunately the perfect guy to do it was the one who got the pick off Hanie on the goaline. Damn I wish we could have signed Herzlich.
Roy Williams is all talk and no walk and needs to take a seat in favor of Johnny Knox. He's done nothing to take away that spot from him and its time Lovie told Martz to stop favoring him unless he shows up to play. So far he's been worthless.

Our total yardage was very high. So we looked pretty good offensively. We were 30th in offensive yardage last season, not scoring.
