Thoughts from Preseason game 2
Our O-Line looked a lot better than game one.
- Run blocking is still really good
- Pass blocking looked better but could still use work
Our Wide Receivers suck ass
- Roy "give me the damn ball so I can drop it" Williams dropped shit like it was hot
- Hester had a good catch, but then caught the dropsies from Williams
Still can not penetrate the end-zone
- Red Zone attempts=fail.
- If it wasn't for us being at 1-G thanks to the PI in the endzone, we would not have scored a TD
Defense showed shakiness
- So much for our strong defense
- Definite weakness exposed tonight
- most of the damage came with the first team in the game

With the lock out and only being the second pre-season game, I am not ready to freak just yet. But I am not totally happy with the FA moves. I also hope that they get the depth chart right this year.
Without weaponz it's just another airline!
I am here to chew bubble gum and kick butt and I am all out of bubble gum!

There was more good than bad, but still quite a few things to clean up. Barber is the change of pace back we've been looking for, no doubt about it. The entire line looked improved and looks like they will continute to improve.
the bad was pretty much just an accumulation of Vets playing it like a preseason game and not trying to go out there and bang themselves up, and just rookies doing what rookies do and making misakes here and there.
the score was horrible but I liked what I saw and I think we really are gonna turn some heads this year.

Honestly, the only thing I pay attention to in the preseason are the O and D lines. I see if we can get a push in the run game and I watch the physical matchups in pass pro (I don't put much into mental errors). I watch for the same thing with our D line. I don't put much stock into anything else.

Hester slipped and he dropped one with a guy jumping over his back, he probably should have had that one but I think we can all admit that was a tough catch to pull in.
I think starting D gave up what 6 points and then Urlacher and Peppers left, and we didn't have Briggs out there. But I can agree that our secondary is undersized and Tillman consistently keeps letting things happen in front of him. Just once I'd like to see him break on a route and dive in there instead of the safe play.

Ol looked really well. Rw is who I sid he was. Knox bennett are the best 2 wr's on the team rw and hester are on the same level. Dl did not get a lot of pressure outside peppers. Big toe was all over the field early on. The 2ndry was brutal. Though jennings name seemed to bbe called a lot. Pur db's are to small putside of tillman. And manning was trying to exploit it...and did. Wth was w/the st's? Those should be chaulk full of hungry guys trying to make a GOODimpression...they didn't.

I noticed that our defense looks like shit against the run without a healthy Briggs

Jacobs made Wright look like a bitch
Jay had some nice pockets to set up and throw in
Didn't see much of Melton, but the Giants are very good up front
Forte's the bees knees
RWill...you were brought here to be the go to guy, catch the ball when they need it or GTFO
*edit* oh yeah and Knox went in at WR with 3rd string? is he in Lovie's dog house now? He got benched behind a mediocre RWill and Hester...and now he's in with the 3's?

I think Lovie's teaching us all a lesson for bitching about any of our WR's, by playing Rwill and making everyone other than him secondary or tertiary (in the preseason). I'd like to think he's doing that because he's out thinking everyone, but i'm afraid there's another reason for that..
