I think Okoye will prove to be the best FA pickup this year that we made. Barber a close second. Both will be big impact players.

So Drake can't turn around Rwill despite their connection plus Martz. Nor has Drake smoothed out Knox. If JA isn't going to draft high or acquire a wr in FA the only route left is to develop in house. The most promising guys are Bennett and Sanz who already came equipped with skills. Go out and get a real wr coach.

I think our coaching sucks except for Martz, he needs talent to make his mojo work with this team and JA is sucks too much at finding talent on the offense unless it out bids everybody. Maybe we should offer Randy Moss 10 million per year to come out of retirement. lol

How can you say that when the talent he asks for become complete failures once we get them? Manu, Taylor, Collins last year and RWill so far this year and none of these guys has made the slightest impact in his offense? RWill may catch some balls but he's not gonna be anywhere near the #1 WR that Martz tells everyone he is.

I guessing the crap we are getting right now is the best JA can get without trading our top picks away again. We all saw what martz did in St. Louis when working with legit wrs and a runningback yet in Chicago his best wr may be Bennett which would probably be the 4th wr on the rams team he coached. I don't think Taylor is bad, I think the OL is crap and we did not use him correctly. Moose comes to chicago and looks like crap after a pretty good career in Carolina. Jay Cutler has not done well in chicago. Kyle Orton and Brandon lloyd look pretty good in Denver yet we had both players play in chicago and they did not play as good as they did last year. Perhaps our coaching staff sucks more than people realize and perhaps that is the reason we can't get legit wrs and OL to come to chicago.

Some of this I'd agree with but not all of it. For instance, Chester Taylor's lousy performance had nothing do do with the Oline. It's the same Oline Forte averaged 4.5 ypc behind last year and the same Oline that Forte, Barber and Bell are running up yardage behind while Taylor struggles even gain 2.4 ypc even this preseason. It's not the line bro, it's Taylor.
Moose was never a #1 WR and we never should have expected him to be here either but when you're a team who hasn't had a #1 WR since the days or Jeff Graham and Curtis Conway the bar for a WR gets set a little lower I'm sure we'll both agree with that. In truth Martz may actually be closer to the the combo of Bruce and Holt he had with the Rams than we realize. Although I think Hester will always give him fits with his inconsistency I think Knox will be a much better receiver than RWill ever thinks he could be once this season is over. He's got the tools and all he needs is more time on the job. Earl Bennett is basically the Hines Ward of the Bears and the kid Sanzenbacher will turn out to be a great find once he's played a bit too.
This offense can do well without a true #1 WR even in Martz's sytem just as long as he uses a strong running game to set up play action and he has a strong running game if he'll use it. This Oline run blocks right now a ton better than it pass blocks.
I don't love how little JA has done for the Oline but the players we've got at skill positions aren't that bad. We could upgrade one WR spot with a true #1 threat and I'm disappointed after they lost out in the Oline lottery that he didn't go after a top WR. Williams is a joke but you have to admit that just like Manu he's Martz joke and he's the guy he asked for so I'm gonna lay at least those two at his feet.
