Taylor Disappointed He Didn't Play vs Titans...........
Bears RB Taylor 'disappointed' after not playing vs. Titans
By Vaughn McClure, Tribune reporter 11:50 p.m. CDT, August 27, 2011
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Running back Chester Taylor didn't get off the bench against the Titans, not even after Marion Barber left Saturday's game with a calf injury.
In fact, Kahlil Bell stepped in front of Taylor and had 11 carries for 48 yards in a reserve role after Matt Forte (17 carries, 74 yards) left the game.
"My running backs coach (Tim Spencer) told me after I came out for pregame that I wasn't playing," Taylor said. "He didn't give me no reason or no excuse or nothing. It can't be from the competition because it's hard to get three carries in a preseason game and the other players are getting 13, 14 carries. That's not comparing anything. It's not from production and play."
Many have speculated that Taylor would be released at some point with a base salary of $1.25 million this season. He seemed pretty upset about not playing Saturday.
"Yeah, I'm disappointed,'' he said. "I'm practicing all week thinking I'm going to play. Just for them to come out of the blue and say that, yeah, I'm disappointed."
Taylor might have just talked his way out of town.

Did he have to give you a reason Chester? You mean you can't figure it out yet on your own? Like maybe you haven't been reading what being said about your future with the Bears in the sports columns? The reason is your time is up.
In my best Jim Mora voice; "Disappointed.........Disappointed!!!!!!!! I'll tell you what disappointed is. It was watching you earn $7 mil last year to average less thn 2.5 ypc and basically stink up the place. You're disappointed that you didn't play in one lousy preseason game and I spent over 18 weeks last years being disappointed watching you. Bye Chester, do not pass GO and collect your $1.25 mil. You can leave the lights on for Kahlil Bell when you leave though.
God I wish DB54 was around. I'd love to go back over the debates of Taylor vs Bell we had last winter and earlier this spring. The blocking had no more to do with Taylor's piss poor play than lousy coaching has to do with Roy Williams piss poor hands. We wasted $7 mil on Taylor and we've already spent $960k to learn that RWill is everything he was advertised to be and less. Save the another mil and a half and cut Williams too. Give it to Forte instead. He's earned it.

There's no doubt that Matt Forte deserves a fat new contract but the play of guys like Taylor are why teams hesitate spending huge on RB's. I think we'd all admit that with the Vikes Taylor was a productive back and there were times when he just killed us as a 3rd down back. Most of us, including me, thought he was a good pickup and taking a weapon away for a conference rival and adding him to our side only sweetened the deal.
So we give Chester a $12 mil deal with $7 mil (58%) year one and he hits an f'n wall so hard that it should have made our teeth rattle. Here's a guy who average over 4 ypc his whole career as a part time back and he can't even put up 3 ypc with the Bears last year. It can't just be the blocking since Forte had his best year as far as ypc goes and this preseason no RB has had a problem getting yardage behind this line but him. He's toast and I think he'll be lucky if he gets picked up by anyone at all after we cut him.
But that's the thing. Sometime you never know when a RB is finished until the moment that it happens.

I blame the offensive line for Chesters downfall.
