Dumpster Diving.....
Inevitably, someone was gonna start a thread about who got cut elsewhere that the Bears out to bring in. I saw an Andre Gurode thread.
I'm here to mention someone myself -
Patriots cut James Sanders
Posted by Michael David Smith on August 29, 2011, 1:39 PM EDT
APJames Sanders is out in New England.
The Patriots informed Sanders today that he’s being cut, his agent Gary Uberstine told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Sanders was in the starting lineup for last week’s preseason loss to the Lions, when the Patriots’ secondary was picked apart by Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Sanders played in 15 games for the Patriots last season, starting nine and intercepting three passes.

I'm sure more O-Lineman are going to be cut and we'll swoop in. Not ideal, IMO.

Deserves a good look. I like it. We definitely are thin at CB and need a vet backup since Bowman apparently isn't up to the job.

No one is expecting to get a starter at this point--that ship sailed right after the LO ended. But, in addition to picking up a vet backup at CB, we could sure use one at OT too. Just someone to upgrade Omiyale for depth--that's not exactly a tall order.

Just read some info on him and it wasn't all that favorable based on what Lovie looks for in a CB. Said he has his problems playing the run and is an inconsistent tackler. That's a bit of the rap against Bowman too but at least he's 3" taller. Sanders is built more like a Safety than a CB but we don't need another one who's having tackling issues.
Actually I didn't think Bowman looked all that bad on Saturday. He still has issues with his tackling but he did make one nice open field stop and he runs with the deep ball as well or better than any other CB we have.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I'd like a DB who could double at SS/FS and CB because we can use vet depth everywhere back there and on ST. Bigger needs for a LB and another Olineman though IMO. We won't find much in the way of OT's but anyone who even has a chance of beating out OMG should be considered. Pisa won't be ready to play until October at the earliest and I don't like our rookie depth at all so this is one spot I'd really be looking to fill.

That and Josh Moore who hasn't stepped up either.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Only problem with this guy is he doesn't play on the D-Line Lovie says PASS

OL, CB and LB please Jerry.
And on WR, I don't think we're going to find anyone better than Bennett, Knox, Hester, Hurd and Sanzenbacher in anyone else's trash. We've already tried the trash route at WR and he's showing he can't catch for shit.
