I'm curious to see if either Reed or Addison even dress for the first few games. I'd hate to see Reed get the ax w/o even seeing the field. Like Soul I'm glad Tofu, Sans, and Reed made it. I'm bummed about Clark but with the way Martz is it's probably for the best. So glad they cut Harrison and Taylor and perhaps Andre Smith can come back on the PS.

Some useless stats?
Avg Age of Bears Players: 26.2 yrs of age
Avg Years of Experience: 3.7 yrs
No. of Rookie Players: 9
No. of Players 30+ yrs of Age: 8
This is not an old team by any measure. In fact overall it's a team coming into it's prime both in terms of age and experience. However, of the 8 players 30 or older 6 of them are on the defense, one on ST, and one on offense. Like it or not we're going to have to continue to restock the defense at LB, DE and CB over these next couple of drafts if we're going to find replacements for the core players who make this defense what it is.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

The things that stand out with this preliminary 53 man roster are:
1) 10 DLmen? I was surprised to see both Reed & Addison make it.
2) I was also surprised to see Venable make the cut.
3) With JTThomas out for the year due to "injury", we better be picking up another LB off waivers or know for sure that Pisa will be back in October. We are VERY thin at LB right now.
4) If one of our starting OTs gets hurt, all we have right now is Frank OMG. I'd certainly swap Venable or Addison to the PS for a backup OT at this point unless Tice feels Horn can help out if need be from the PS.
Otherwise, I think cutting the others was wise (sorry to see Dez go but I understand it).

More good news-sounds as if Andre Smith is going to be on the PS

Thanks for the heads up shorty. Here's the entire PS list as it stands.
Bears re-sign Adams, Horn; add Allen to practice squad
Former Notre Dame Armando Allen scores on a twenty yard completion for Tampa Bay. (Brad Mills-US PRESSWIRE / September 1, 2011)
Poll: Will Brandon Meriweather make a big impact on Bears defense?
By Brad Biggs Tribune Reporter 1:26 p.m. CDT, September 4, 2011
A day after final cuts, the Chicago Bears began the process of bringing some of them back: Wide receiver Kris Adams and offensive lineman Levi Horn have been re-signed to the practice squad.
The Bears also signed former Notre Dame running back Armando Allen, who was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to their practice squad.
Adams has good size at 6-3, 194 pounds, and made enough plays in training camp and preseason to warrant a longer look even though the Bears are carrying six wide receivers on the 53-man roster.
Other additions: Guard Ricky Henry, defensive tackle Jordan Miller, tight end Andre Smith, linebacker Patrick Trahan and safety Anthony Walters.
The Bears still have one spot still available. Teams were allowed to begin forming eight-man practice squads at 11 a.m.
General manager Jerry Angelo will need to clear one roster spot for safety Brandon Meriweather. It’s unknown if it will cost undrafted rookie free agent Winston Venable a spot. Venable, who played well in preseason, made it through final cuts Saturday.

Sad to see Dez go, but Martz never used him anyway, which was dumb to begin with.
