One of the big questions as the Chicago Bears made final cuts was whether they would keep a fullback.
Yes turned to no Tuesday when Will Ta’ufo’ou was waived. The former undrafted free agent from California made it through final cuts Saturday but was cut loose. He spent parts of the last two seasons with the team, including the entire 2009 season on the practice squad.
The team could always bring in another fullback. Or it could look for help at another position. The Bears are carrying only five linebackers, and they’ve never started a season under Lovie Smith without at least six.
Undrafted rookie free agent Kyle Adams was switched to fullback midway through training camp. He also has played tight end. Adams could be used in the backfield some.
We’ll see how it plays out. One source said the team could show interest in former Iowa linebacker A.J. Edds, who was released by the Miami Dolphins. Edds might be claimed on waivers Tuesday, though.
