He played a little yesterday and there was one thing I noticed. The WR's are very aware that's he's out there. Where it was most obvious was on a throw to the left to either Jones or White. The WR had the inside position and a step on Peanut. The ball was slightly over thrown but is the receiver would have run full out and stretched for the ball it could have been a catch.
But.............Meriweather had the deep coverage and was honing in for a hit and the guy just quit on the ball. He does cause guys to grow "alligator arms" I'll say that much. Other than that I didn't see much out of him but that alone tells me that we probably made a good choice picking him up. From what I've seen of him so far Wright is not an intimidator and he was weak on a couple of his tackles yesterday. I feel a whole lot better with our depth at Safety now than before we signed him. I won't judge him any farther until I've seen him play more.

Third? I count 5.
Roy Williams
Vernon Gholston
Amobi Okoye
Chris Spencer
Brandon Meriweather
Heck, the Bears only have 3 of their OWN first round picks on the roster (Urlacher, Carimi and Chris Williams)...and one of those failed at the position he was drafted for.

Third guy with a bad rap against him brother, with the emphasis on bad, LOL.
Only RWill and Gholston were thought to be either a woeful underperformer (RWill) or a complete failure (Gholston). Spencer had been a starter with Seattle for 5 years, although not what you'd expect from a former first rounder, and Okoye was considered to be a poor fit for Houston's defense. I don't consider those guys as having bad raps. I'm sure they'll both prove better here than with their former teams.
Hell, Okoye led the team in preseason sacks and got another yesterday and Spencer came in for Louis at OG and played reasonably well. We all hated to see Olin go but so far Garza has been an ace at OC so much so that Spencer can't beat him out so at least we end up with some vet help at OG. Better than seeing OMG playing there.
Gholston proved to be everything he wasn't once again but RWill had a couple of nice grabs yesterday before he was hurt including one he caught right on his fingertips. I'll be satisfied if RWill just does OK. Knox keeps proving that he deserves to play. Meriweather comes with the rap of being a gambler and resistant to coaching. Who knows whether or not that will continue to be the case or not. One thing for certain is that he wanted to play here more than anywhere else so we'll see if he rewards Lovie with some great play for the confidence he's shown in him.

Great last sentence.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?
