I would have been happier with TJ Whosyourmomma. Hell even TO would have been better.

Now he comes to our team with years of disdain snowballed against him and we're supposed to jump on board as our #1 WR? I didn't like when they made the move and he's shown nothing to instill confidence in my backing of him. As a member of my favorite football team I will give him the benefit of the doubt at the beginning but for all the reasons mentioned he is on the shortest of leashes.
It's not up to me or other Bears fans to give him a chance. Mike Martz has already assured that he'll get it. The guy has done jack shit so far since he's been here and frankly I don't really expect that to improve. He should never have been handed Knox job and the excuse Martz give for that was one of the weakest that lying SOB has ever come up with.
Because I'm a staunch Bears fan I would never root for him to fail but then I'm not expecting him to succeed in a big way either. If he can go out and at least catch most of what's thrown his way and give Jay a bigger target in the red zone and haul in a half dozen scores I'll consider those contributions as being about all we could expect from this bum.
If Johnny Knox can't step up and decisively take over this spot next year I want them to get a legit #1 WR so we can say sayonara to Roy Williams.

Chicago is just like philly when it comes to certain players. Grossman was either loved or hated and Roy will be in the same shoes. He has a couple of good games the fans will jump on the wagon but if he plays bad the fans will not let up and boo the shit out of him everytime he gets the ball. Just like Motownbear said, we have a ton of cap space and we used it on garbage.

Just on that topic and not on RWill. I read just the other day that teams will be allowed to carry forward any 2011 cap excess into 2012. As far as I could see it's a one year only deal brought on by the late start of the league year. Probably deference to teams like the Bears and others who have extensions to do but lack as much time to get them done as needed.
My guess is that's what's behind the 1st round dumpster diving plan. JA was making up for the lost firsts from the Cutler trade and those who earn will get rewarded with a long term deal after this season. Those who don't get shown the door. RWill certainly fits in this category as do Okoye and Meriweather. In addition to this we have quite a few more of of our own guys who also will need to be addressed. Just my thoughts on why JA did what he did.

If he makes plays, fans will love him.
If he doesn't make plays but appears to be playing hard and trying to make them, fans will love him.
If he goes out there, and fails to make plays and appears to be giving up on routes and plays, fans will chase him out of town with pitchforks.
This is Chicago. Fans will love you if you show that you are trying hard. Talented or not, Chicago loves players who bust their asses to make an impact, even if they are not able to do so.

4 balls thrown to him today - 4 catches. It's a start ..... and that's all I'll say.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

that's 64 catches; lil short of the 80, but still better then I'd ever expect out of him.

Figures he shows up then gets hurt.
