How do you think the Saints D-line will compare? Do they have studs like Babineaux and Abraham?
IMO, Saints don't have the edge rushers that Atlanta does, but their interior linemen are a bit better. Our C and Guards will have a bigger test this week. Hope Louis' ankle injury doesn't keep him out for too long.

Heard on the after game show that Atl was missing their interior DL starters, might have been a false positive. We'll see what happens next week.

Er, maybe that's why he's playing RT or then again maybe he's a rookie LT adjusting to playing RT just like Webb had to do last year. Opinion noted.

I thought the play at OT would rate a B- but the interior line play gets an A-. Cutler had a pocket to throw out of most of the time. Garza is doing a great job at OC so far and Spencer came in and did nicely as a replacement for Louis. CWill is steadily becoming a very nice player at LG.
Considering how young this line is and how far they still can go in their development I'd have to say that I'm enthused so far. Tice did a nice job of getting them ready and Martz didn't lean to heavily on the 7 step drops. This is just one game so I'll hold my final judgement on whether or not they seem to be on their way to greatness until after the next two games. But so far so good.

OT: B, there were some obvious growing pains and at times both Webb and Carimi looked overmatched, but for the most part they were solid and did not get beat cleanly like Wayne Hunter of the Jets. I can see both improving throughout the season.
Interior: A, they are not maulers in the run game but they created a stable pocket and did not allow any penetration up the middle. When we needed a yard they were able to bury in and get it.
The Saints DL is worse than the Falcons across the board. Sed Ellis looked terrible against the Packers and Shaun Rogers and Abrayo Franklin were glorified pylons. What scares me about the Superdome is not the players, but the noise.

by the looks of that game neither of our OTs are ready. But it isnt like we went up against chump pass rushers. Now if they look this shaky against NO pass rushers then I would be a little harsher with my judgement

Solid outing, but room for improvement. Webb and Carimi (welcome to The League, young man) were beaten a few times, but they’re both young and were up against a couple veteran edge rushers in Abraham and Edwards who have both bull rush and speed rush capabilities (not one-trick ponies). Their problem was more inexperience than inability…a lot of it can be cleaned up. The interior did a good job of anchoring in pass pro, but would’ve liked to have seen more running lanes and guys getting to the second level more consistently. For the most part, the pocket was cleaner and more consistently present than is normal, and Cutler had room to step up without guys being in his lap.
