    The OL Week 1

I know people are going to want to jump on Webb, but he played pretty well considering he was going against John Abraham.

    1st Sack: Webbs faults

2nd Sack: Webb forced him wide and Jay held the ball too long.

    1st Holding Call: 'Webb's Fauls

2nd Holding Call: This was total shit he was dominating Curtis Lofton and never got his hands outside.

OL played pretty well overall; Cutler needs to get the ball out quicker on some of those plays. They didn't have a perfect game, but were damn sure better then I had expected them to play.

Williams, Garza and Spencer should be celebrated they were very good against a couple of guys in Jerry and Babineaux that are highly regarded.

The run blocking was solid and more importantly Jay stepped almost all game and was able to deliver nice passes.

They held up well against a tough defense. But more tests still to come. Next two games are not going to be a walk in the park.

I watched Garza a lot during the game. Thought he played very well. On pass defense, he helped create a nice pocket for Jay. Most, if not all the pressure came from the edges. When Kreutz was at center, the middle of the line collapse regularly. Abraham is just too good to keep off the QB all game, but thought Webb played well. Carimi showed that he was a rookie, but also made some nice plays. The OL play was encouraging. We also ran some successful screen plays. When run well, the screen pass is so effective against pressure. IMO, the Bears have never been a great screen team. Maybe under Martz that will change. Too bad we didn't score on the back screen right before the half. The play was wide open, but due to pressure, Jay over threw Davis.

Nice to see the distribution from Jay. 22 receptions to 8 different targets.

I think hopes are high for them. To come out at the start of the season and look pretty decent AND they can get better, gel, and fight through some learning curves and rookie mistakes makes me think the sky's the limit for them as the season progresses. The TE and FB blocking only adds to the nice surprise. The only downside is that Louis got hurt.

Overall vs a good defense: B-

I'm very happy with what I saw from Garza, and the O-line in general.

How do you think the Saints D-line will compare? Do they have studs like Babineaux and Abraham?

looked better than expected. Cutler had time and his throws were accurate (OK, most of them)

Look who was blocking Abraham on a Forte run. Anybody know which run this was?
