Yep w/o FA to make up for weaknesses any injury shows where we're soft at. Now the blueprint to beat us will be even more apparent.

Blue print was apparent towards the end of last year.

This was a game against a very good team on the road in a place where it is notoriously difficult to win as a visitor (I HATE domes!). But it was winnable and we were only down 6 at half and only a field goal in the 3rd. The 2nd half performance was especially disheartening.

1. There is no way to sugarcoat it--the OL was absolutely shitty on both run & pass blocking. There were perhaps 2 or 3 succesful running plays and the rest of the time the ball carrier was either hit in the backfield or had to fight for 1-2 yds. The pass pro was marginal before Carimi left and absolutely horrific afterwards. The 2nd half was basically the same embarrassing show we saw vs. the Giants last year. Webb took a big step back--he was bad, really bad. Omiyale--NO SURPRISE--was a turnstyle. And WTF was Martz thinking in having Davis block a DE??? He whiffed and it cost us a sack-fumble and any chance of coming back to win.

2. Forte looked like the only player on O who came to play (I'll give an honorable mention to Clutts and Earl 'tough-catch' Bennett whose loss was sorely felt as the game went on). Sorry but ALL the other pass receivers totally sucked ass. Johnny Knox was back to doing the same ole shit that prevents him from being a true starting WR in the NFL--he runs shit routes, often doesn't use his speed effectively to get separation, and can't make a f*****g contested catch in traffic. Hester fumbled a return, dropped a pass, and (other than one play where JC overthrew him) basically disappeared all game. Sanz is too small to be a go-to-guy and he dropped a key 3rd down pass too--Dane, when you're small and not that fast you have to contribute by being surehanded--YOU CAN'T DROP BALLS LIKE THAT ON 3RD DOWN! The TEs.....ahhh, did we have any TEs on the field? I couldn't tell. Cutler's options were basically: throw it to Forte, throw it away, or take the sack one second later.

3. The D as usual kept us in the game far longer than we deserved to be. But it too wasn't nearly as good as last week. There's no excuse for Major 'toast' Wright to get beat that badly on a 3rd and long passing situation. He took a poor angle that allowed a speedy WR to gat by him and then couldn't make the TD-saving tackle. Major momentum changer there. The front 4, our rock, did not put nearly enough pressure on Brees and the D forced zero TOs until the game was already 99% over. The Saints' TEs killed us all second half on 10-15 yrd catches.

4. GOT PASS-HAPPY AGAIN! It's amazing...Martz seems to coincide his pass-manias with times when the pass pro is obviously most vulnerable.

5. Need Bennett & Barber back asap.

6. If Carimi is out, there goes playoff chances.

No way we can beat GB next week playing like today....
