When Cutlers contract is up and the BEARS try to resign him ( if hes still alive ), his reply would be something to the line " Your kidding me right, with the idiots you have NOT blocking for me, I'm going else where. Cause at this rate I won't be able to stand let alone walk at this rate."

And i wouldn't blame him one bit, or hold it against him.

at this rate no QB worth anything would not want to play for this offense.

I honestly don't get it. I saw Brady, Rodgers, Brees sitting back there yesterday standing still. No feet moving, nothing to worry about, just planted .... surveying the field, then delivering the ball like it's practice. Bears O-linemen are just as big, went to D-1 schools etc.. but the difference is like night and day. If other players can do it, why not ours ? Only thing I can think of is the effort just isn't there. What kind of pride do these guys have? Any ?
I keep hoping they'll improve, but when you see the same results ..........
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

It's a good point. Lack of talent and playing for a few years make a good sized difference. Still they should be better at blocking esp NON blitzing opponents. You could also factor in using the shotgun and having competent wr's. I think the main point is seeing improvement no matter how small. Seemed like a regression last week.

That just about what I was gonna say. The thread title is an oxymoron. We have no depth on the Oline. The starting 5 were barely serviceable and now the entire right side of the line has been wiped out by injury and we're once again getting a lesson in just how poorly staffed we are at LT as Webb goes through his "growing pains".

We've all been worried about what would happen if he got hurt with OMG as the backup LT and just when we thought it couldn't get worse than that we now have to play him at RT. His second worst position right after LG. I said before the season began that we were gonna need to stay very healthy in order to repeat of improve upon last season and not two games into this one we're already in big trouble.

There is no way we can run Mike Martz's offense with this Oline and this set of WR's and Martz has no tricks in his bag that don't require the ball to be put in the air. Once again it falls to the defense to keep us close enough for a chance at winning and we're weakened there once again by our inexperience at Safety with Harris out. What was a strength last year is once again turning into a weakness as Major Wright is beginning to prove that he can't be trusted at FS.

And that is a very good point and for the most part that arrogance starts with Martz. Instead of working together on the needs of the offense to me it looks like Martz and the rest of the staff and management aren't just not on the same page, they're reading a completely different book. There is no way a Mike Martz offense works without pass protection and WR who can play with more precision than Hester and Knox seem capable of right now. The only elements of success that we have is at QB and RB and one is getting killed every week while the other is playing out his contract while proving just how much he is worth.

There is something going on at the management level that tells me that their are being some severe restrictions being placed on spending and it's that which is causing the problems. Was losing yesterdays game preventable had we spent $500k more to keep Olin for another year while the newbies adjusted? I don't know but we sure as hell made it a whole lot easier for NO to get inside Martz's head from what Olin could give them I'm certain of that much anyway.

We went after two prime Olineman and failed to get even one of them. Both re-upped with their own teams because for whatever reason our offer was not good enough to make them comfortable with the switch. Not even the $3 mil more we offered Colon. One of us claimed that he heard JA was playing real "hardball" in FA and that's why we were unsuccessful. At the time that was hard to believe but after the Kruez debacle and now the failure to secure Forte I can readily believe it.

4th is right! JA will pay ridiculous amounts on defensive players to shore up weaknesses but the offense get nothing but a shrug and an "I tried". Any lack of progress offensively that can be attributed to the lack of blocking or an effective passing game is at the very least a shared responsiblity of JA, Martz, and Lovie. What most needed improving once again got the shaft and a bargain basement approach when top shelf was needed.

And Lovie is a defensive coach by trade, so naturally he's going to favor D. But to make the O side of the trenches this much of an afterthought is inexcusable. How much longer do we have to put up with this ? And the "we made it to the NFC cship game" malarkey has got to end. We beat the Seahawks for cripes sake. Last season was alot of smoke and mirrors.
