A patchwork of OL and WR's came to play today ... and it showed.
Cutler should be able to carry a GUN against G.B. for protection, it's only fair.
Hopefully Raji and Matthews should be dead after watching the game tapes from multiple orgasms.
So they shouldnt be a factor.

Because 4 minutes is a lifetime in football...teams can come back from 3 scores down in 4 minutes. (not likely, but it is possible)

Terry Bradshaw once scored 2 TD's in 12 seconds.

Well either one of two things are going to happen. Either the wheels fall off or things start to click. I think it's SB or bust. If bust then it's time to scrap JA and Martz and move on.

Quarterbacks also get lost for the season when playing behind the worst OL in football and Jay was taking shots late in the 4th quarter.

If history repeats itself, Martz will make an adjustment by playing two tight ends and an RB in the backfield in order to give Cutler more protection. Punish the blitz with the quick slant pass. He did this last year and it worked. This Saints game, he went away from the run and we became one dimensional, and once they saw our QB had little to no protection, they did nothing but blitz.
Martz seems to have to learn this every year, better it happened in the second game than later in the season. Unfortunately we go up against Green Bay next week.

Martz should have already adjust and made sure he didn't repeat last years mistakes. Granted the lockout messed things up a bit, but all were effected by that. So that is not a real excuse. Martz is suppose to be some OC guru or something and he ain't shown it so far.
Without weaponz it's just another airline!

I am by no means making excuses for Martz! As an OC in the NFL, he should have all kinds of contingincies built into the game plan. The fact that this same thing happened last year is actually an indictment on his abilities. I will admit, he can be extremely creative in his schemes, but his stubborness and bullheadedness often overides this attibute!

.......And the suckfest continues.
While I admit I enjoyed the anomaly that was last season,( I am a fan after all);
It was unfinished business,and losing in the championship game was the topper.
I bought in and drank the koolaid to a point,but always with that niggling suspicion;
the one that says,this is all smoke and mirrors;it's not the status quo.
Well,I came crashing back to earth on sunday,(not as hard as Cutler).
I've called for Lovie and JA to be fired before,but I think Jerrys' pal Ruskell needs to go too.
Clean sweep across the board.
I honestly can't see how this team is any better than last year,and probably worse off,
considering the schedule they now have.
Only one team that I know of runs the Mike Martz offense,and that's one too many in my book.
I hate to see players like Cutler,Urlacher,Peppers and Forte languishing in this morass of ineptitude.
But sadly,it will be the same warmed over crap,until the clowns are gone.
I for one am fresh out of laughs.

He can't step up in the pocket because it collapses too fast.
It would be easier to state what he can't do and that's run pass plays with 7 step drops out of an empty backfield when they're blitzing you virtually every play. Five guys can't block six or seven guys no matter how good they are and our guys aren't very good to begin with.
You're letting Martz off the hook far too easy here 4th. This was his game plan and his playcalling that we're talking about. Once he saw how little protection the Oline was providing what did he do to change that? What he should have done is to run more delays and draws against the blitz but what he did was pass even more and with less, not more blocking.
Mike Martz is the kind of guy who will not admit that he's wrong and adjust. Oh he'll pay lip service to it but he won't do anything until he's forced to. I'm telling you we have another Terry Shea on our hands and the only difference this time is that we're operating with a $30 mil QB this time instead of the cannone fodder we had playing QB then. If this offense can't improve over what it was last year Martz should be gone before the season is half over because at this rate by that time we'll be out of the playoffs anyway.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
