What we learned Saints/Chicago
Saints, can score on anyone. Even w/a washed up crappy center; maybe b/c they have 3 probowlers on their OL besides that Kruetz guy. Brees/and that team are dangerous when they need the win at home.
Their D can run some crazy blitz packages that create a ton of pressure; if your OL is not up to snuff, your team is doomed to fail against that team b/c their O will put them ahead, and will make you pass; and their D will just pin it's ears back and blitz the snot out of you b/c they know what your going to do.
Our DL has to prove which of the first two weeks was a mirage; last week against a very weak and beat up OL or this week against one that has 4 past pro bowlers on it. Melton might have got the Manderson treatment; we might have crowned his ass after one bigtime game. They gashed us up running up the middle, and we got little to no pressure up the middle.
Our OL is a laughable joke; and worse there is not even enough talent on the depth chart to step in when one goes down to keep it merely laughable. What was already a bad game went to pathetic when GC went down.
Our O is Forte; don't believe it, look at the last two games. He's the only one that showed up for both of them.
Cutler 2 games in is already losing confidence in the OL, and his mechanics are already showing it. Worse he is acting like Orton out there, even if there is no pressure he feels it and gets dumps it off. RT/KO were run out of down for there dump off/Screen O. We have now upgraded QB and OC; and still have a dump off/screen O.
We have 2 WR's that are worth a damn; Bennett and, sadly, Roy Williams. They are the only ones that can run a F'n route and will fight for a ball. Hester and Knox, are 1 trick pony's, get them the ball when they are open and they will shine, have them even slightly covered and they disapear.
We didn't use the TE's in the passing game; yet if they were held back to block they were useless at that also; so why did we trade Olsen again? Think he might have been able to split out and caught a tough pass?
Our DB's are brutal; they couldn't cover a a broom w/dirt while cleaning a condemend crack house. If the front four don't pressure the qb, the db's are toast.
If you give Martz any reason to stop running the ball, down 3 in the 3rd, he will. Mad genious my ass. He's merely insane now.
The season isn't over, we are still an 8-10 win team, which puts us in playoff contention. We beat a damn good Atl team that is looking alive vs the media darlings. But there is a good chance we drop to 1-2 if we cannot protect JC better, open holes for the RB better, and do not find a way to pressure one of the better qb's in the league.

Why does this sound like the same problems from last year?
Without weaponz it's just another airline!
I am here to chew bubble gum and kick butt and I am all out of bubble gum!

b/c it is. Against teams that don't create a lot of qb pressure, Cutler and this O will be okay; against teams that come w/crazy blitzes or have great Dl's, we will suffer.
Same goes for our D, against OL's that cannot handle our front 4, or O's that are turnover prone, we will be fine. Against teams that take care of the ball and have Big solid OL's we will get eaten alive.

Speaking of history repeating itself, reported by the score in the post game interview, Urlacher was asked what changes were made at halftime; he stated none. That sounds all to familiar, same coaches different Sunday.

Sounds exactly like last season although the adjustments might be made earlier. Last year it was the giants that threw a crazy D at us and from then on out we had D's trying all kinds of blitz schemes, but we adjusted the run game and short passes and turned it around.

I was talking more along the lines of minor changes while in the game; not drastic 70-30 to 50-50 pass/run ratios. But ya, Lovie stated they were going to fix that glitch.
