It was all Mike Martz's fault.
He lost the game against the Saints with his ego, vanity and stubbornness. He refused to run the ball or max-protect his beleaguered QB.
It was the same last year against the Giants, Seahawks the the Packers game that ended the year.
If this happens again he should be fired on the spot. That is all.

ya had nothing to do w/the sub par OL that cannot protect the qb or read a blitz pre snap; or the sub par wr's that cannot run a correct route or hold onto a ball. Nor was it the DB's that cannot cover or that AMAZING DL that could not get pressure up the middle(think I had concerns about that last week, but you were to busy calling me a hater to realize I had a point).

Im not blaming Martz. When we tried running, it was same as it usually is...right into the LoS as the line gets pushed back. No gain.
And yes, Forte is a good runner...when he has decent blocks, or when he gets out in space. But this OL cant give him those holes very often.
No, its the OL's fault. Last week showed that the offense can put up decent numbers behind Martz's play calls.

As long as he's been coaching fb you'd think he could have made the adjustments that could have made for better results. Why not throw to the TE's on 1 step pop passes. Gotta slow em down somehow. Instead it was 7 step drops with Jay getting pummeled. Doesn't make any sense. Played right into their hands. Vanity causes stupidity sometimes.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

That's just it, his play calls this week were atrocious. The Saints blitzes almost every play and Martz never adjusted. And while seeing rushers demolish his quarterback all game, not only did he KEEP passing, he kept calling for 7-step drops. That is ALL on Martz

IDK at what point does one stop blaming the assistant and start assessing blame to the guy that hired him or that guy's boss? Martz might have a long leash but ultimately it's up to the coach to see repeated blunders don't occur over and over again. Being balanced should have NEVER been a problem and should have been implied on the condition to hire "Smartz".
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

How were they atrocious? The best OC in the world cant make the OL block any better, nor guarantee the WRs actually CATCH the ball. Oh yeah...dont forget about the ridiculous number of catchable dropped passes that happened as well. Ill give Sanz a pass since he is a Rook...but the rest of them (Hester, Knox, TEs)...no excuses for it. Between that, and Cutler starting out in SHOTGUN and still getting pressured...i cant really fault Martz for all of it. And we did have two decent drives...the first scoring one, and the next to last one where it looked like we were trying to stage a come back.
All im saying is give Martz a GOOD OL (not even probowl...just a decent top 10 OL), and i think the offense would be on a roll.
Oh, and there is an ignore feature, or so i hear.

If you are looking for someone to blame. Blame the front office.
