Thread: White House to honor '85 Bears

Gee. It sounds just like the kind of thank you we Vietnam Vets got after the Desert Storm guys came home after 32 days to ticker tape parades, free college, huge discounts on cars and homes, and everybody patting them on the back instead of spitting on them. That thank you we got was as hollow as it could be. That is the very same thank you Obabma is going to gush all over the existing '85 Bears just so he can look like he cares about Chicago, about sports, and especially about the Bears. It's all a vote getting ploy and it sucks. Of course we didn't build a WWII War Memorial until after Tom Hanks made a request after doing the Saving Private Ryan movie. Hey Washington and the rest of the country. If you really mean thank you - then say it right after the thing you are thanking them for, not decades later out of guilt or to make some political points. GO BEARS - GO USA - THANK YOU EVERY VET.

Bitter much...this is a nice, long overdue gesture...nothing more...

Funny, it appears Washington started working the WWII Memorial in 1993....almost 6 years before Hanks did Saving Private Ryan....whatever, never let facts get in the way of good rant....

If this is a vote ploy it's the weakest one I've ever seen considering the depression we are in.

You're right, what's 50 years among friends right? Why not wait the full 50 years for the Bears to go to the Whitehouse? The long overdue gesture thing is exactly my point though, but I'll guess you hate war, army, vets, or anything else that could have been part of it all, so I'm an ass for having an opinion. I get it.
