Report: White House to honor '85 Bears
By ESPNChicago.com
Twenty-six years after they dominated the NFL with a 15-1 season on the way to a victory in Super Bowl XX, the 1985 Chicago Bears will finally get a chance to be honored at the White House.
Citing NFL sources, Comcast Sports Chicago reported Wednesday that the '85 Bears have been invited to the White House on Oct. 7 for a ceremony to honor the team many consider the greatest of all time.
The '85 Bears never made it to the White House because of the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion that killed its crew on Jan. 28, 1986, two days after the Bears defeated the New England Patriots 46-10 in Super Bowl XX.
Most of the players and some members of the coaching staff and front office are expected to attend, according to the report.

When are we gonna commemorate the 1908 cubs or some other irrelevant team? I'm just about at my full fatigue level with the 85 bears.

I understand where you are coming from because we expected ALOT more from any BEARS team since then.

Exactly!!! If Obama isn't the President this never happens.
No matter, it will never beat the story about the year the Bears were barnstorming out east and they got introduced to President Calvin Coolidge as, George Halas and his Chicago Bears, and Coolidge said,"Nice to meet you, I love animal acts".
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

You can't commemorate a team as hapless as the Cubs have been for the last 100 plus years. The Sox, the Hawks, the Bulls, yes................but never the Cubs. LOL
Benji will probably suspend me for this post. hahaha.
