Graham seemed to admit to his penalty. We must hold the league record for TD returns called back by a penalty. The non-call on Hester was all about who was covering him and who got the benefit of the doubt. Woodson knew he was about to get beat like a rug so what he did was very smart. He looked back for the ball and then stepped directly into Hesters path which cost us a probable TD. Had Hester caught the ball nobody would have caught him.

That was one of the games very good calls and it's why, as Matt Bowen pointed out, Hester needs to consistently be matched up with the opponents #3 CB just like he was against Woodson. Woodson is a great player but he has nowhere near the speed he needs to stay with someone like Hester. Anyone else would probably drawn a flag but by expereince and great acting skills he got away with what should have been a PI call.

    JMO.

Even though the offense was so bad today they still would've lost most likely. Regardless of what the outcome may have been that is one of the worst calls I have ever seen.
If that's who they flagged then it was a bullshit call. I thought it was Graham but he was on the other side of the field near Knox. If that's who got flagged the indeed the Packers were lucky of that call as well. When a foul that was sketchy to begin with happens so far away from the action that it has no effect on the outcome it should be a non-call.

If it truly was on Bowman I'd say the league office owes the Bears an apology. Despite that I'm sick and tired of having to depend on returns, interceptions or fumble recoveries and whatever to win games. Get an offense on the field that can score points and hold on to the ball. When you lose the TOP 37 1/2 minutes to 22 1/2 minutes you don't deserve to win the game IMO. I'm tired of having to depend on miracle plays to win but I do admit that was a nice one. Talk about being faked out of their jockstraps.

RW's was open, but the ball took to long to get there and the safety was easily able to react once it was in the air. the other; the drop/hit on knox. That ball gets to him quicker he is able to catch it w/out hearing footsteps and probably is able to avoid the tackle. Knox should have caught it all the same, but if it's thrown sooner it's an easier catch.
You've pretty well nailed it Ric. It's exactly what I've been saying in other posts. If you watch what's happening you can see an almost total lack of confidence in the players. Particularly Cutler and with good reason. Part of the problem is and always has been that the Bears WR's are standing still quite often when the ball arrives but if Cutler isn't sure of where they'll be until then he's gonna hold it a count longer to be sure.

The second pick was a great example of what I'm talking about. RWill broke past the CB and Jay threw right at him but Williams kept coming inside rather than up field which is where Cutler threw. Bad communication but that's the third time it's happened on passes to Williams in three games. Williams is running routes to avoid contact an assure that he gets the ball without having to make himself too vulnerable. He's making Cutler play guessing games with him that you don't noramlly see when he throws to Knox. I don't agree that the pass Knox dropped was late. He didn't look the ball in plain and simple.

RWill gonna be a short timer here that's obvious. If Martz goes, and I'd say that's very likely, so does Williams. He's already perserving himself for his next deal. He's out for himself just like Martz.

Thanks kegger. It was so far off the play and so brief you could easily miss it. I think Benji is right. Everyone thought the punt was to Hester so on that basis the hold was within the line of play but for when it happened and where Knox caught the ball it was a non-factor. Bad break. Should we name this the "puntrooski" play?

Has to be named after Toub or Hester, I was thinking something like Hesteryical. IMO he should be given head coaching job for drawing that one up himself.
