I think the Benchmark is 20 points. ill have to look it up, but i remember that Lovie has some ridiculously high winning percentage when the D holds opponents to less then 20 points.

I mentioned this in the main advance for this game but it warrants repeating: Smith's Bears are 42-9 when opponents score 17 or fewer points.
But throw this in along with it, and you get a real glimpse into it takes to make a championship team, which the Bears most definitely believe they are.
Lovie Smith Bears teams are 54-10 when they score 18 or more points.
Now, refine all of this into cause-effect terms:
In the three playoff years under Smith, the Bears were 25-5 when they capped opposing point totals at 17 or less (2005, 11-1); 2006, 8-1; 2010, 6-3). And when they scored 18 or more, the record has been a net 28-1 (2005, 6-0; 2006, 12-0; 2010, 10-1).
What you really see in all this is why the Bears believe they can be something seriously great with Cutler and the offense taking a step up. They know their defense is solid and they win when they play “D.” When they put points on the board from the offense, they become legitimate NFC Championship or Super Bowl prospects.
Oh, in case you’re wondering, the only time in three playoff years when the Bears scored 18+ and didn’t win the game? The Seattle game last year, a 23-20 loss to Matt Hasselbeck and the Seahawks.

Amen. I'm glad somebody besides me said it. Martz may want to watch some tape and learn how a TE absolutley destroyed us. He called two passes to Davis, one he dropped and the other was a TD but wow what a run after catch. Davis is far more athletic than I thought. The Packers have always been vulneable to seam routes by our TE's. How many of those did Martz call.
Lance Briggs needs to watch the game film too. No matter how many stops you make for no gain or a small loss they aren't gonna overcome your stinking pass coverage when your responsibility is the TE. For the second week an row you gave up an easy TD to your guy because you were out of position. You got lazy in your coverage. So how much more do you think your worth? I haven't seen any pro-bowl level play so far this year.
For the second week in a row Urlacher made a phenomenal pick but when he fails to fill the right gap we get gored for big yardage up the middle. Several times he got taken in by the RB's first move right and went to his left while leaving a perfect cutback lane between the DT and the DE. It's especially evident when we're in nickel coverage and Briggs in playing the SLB spot to his left. He needs to stop trying to make every stop and show more discipline. Nobody sho0uld be able to run the middel on us like that.
Final observation. Craig Steltz still can't cover so why was he playing FS most of the game? Late getting back to cover Finley on that second TD. The does not have the speed of the range for FS so why the fvck play him there when you have Meriweather who actually is a FS or even Conte who has to be better in coverage than Steltz.

That's always been my benchmark too but unless they give up a lot or turnovers you can't hold a team like the Pack to 20 points or less when you let them control the ball for over 60% of the game. TOP differential was 15 minutes. That's like giving them one extra quarter to do you in. That was one thing we couldn't do but we damn sure did!

3 consecutive “3 and outs” possessions to start the 2nd half for a grand total of 2:47 off the clock will really play havoc with your TOP differential....
Reductio ad absurdum...it's how we roll...

I didn't say they were terrible, but this isn't lights out in my book. People throw around accolades too much.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?
